The majority of amenities, activities, and gratuities at this hotel and a companion property, Barcelo Capella Beach Resort, are included in the room rate; guests are not charged extra for the majority of amenities and activities (scroll up to the All-Inclusive Details section for more information). Across a narrow street, Barcelo Capella Beach Resort, to which guests of this hotel have full access, includes an air-conditioned slot-machine room open from late afternoon to early morning, flamingo ponds, and dense gardens. Barcelo Capella Beach Resort also includes a massage/beauty salon (surcharges), an air-conditioned fitness center, and a children's club. Ground transportation:

Recreation
The majority of recreational activities and facilities described below are included in the room rate for this hotel (scroll up to the All-Inclusive details section for more information). Separated by a little garden waterfall, a 15-m (50-ft), irregularly shaped pool and six-person spa tub lie within this hotel's central flagstone courtyard, which is furnished with cushioned lounge chairs. All other recreation facilities and equipment available to hotel guests are located across the street in a companion property, Barcelo Capella Beach Resort, to which hotel guests have full access as part of the All-Inclusive plan. Barcelo Capella includes two bi-level, irregularly shaped pools (one in a garden, the other near the beach) with swim-up bars and a 3.75-m (12-ft) children's pool. The garden pool's upper section measures 12m (40 ft) wide and the lower 32m (105 ft) long, with a 4.5m (15-ft) water slide between them. The beachfront pool's upper section measures 15m (50 ft) wide and the lower 12m (40 ft) wide. This hotel's guests do not have direct access to the beach but must walk through Barcelo Capella. That resort's Caribbean Sea beach frontage extends 400m (437 yds), with rocks lining the beach's center and sand access at both ends. Coral heads and reefs lie close to shore for snorkeling. Barcelo Capella supplies snorkeling gear, windsurfers, kayaks, small sailboats, and pedal boats as part of this hotel's All-Inclusive plan. Land sports at Barcelo Capella available to this hotel's guests as part of the All-Inclusive plan include miniature golf, tennis (surcharges for play under lights), and volleyball. | A good price, but TV coaxial cable was unplug and I have to fix it. Also the telephone was without dial tone and never get fixed by the technician. Breakfast is good, but meals buffet is repeat everyday. The staff was not friendly.

| i traveled with my husband and 2 yrs old son. my husband is dominicana so we've been there several times but of all the hotels i've stayed at i recommend the Barcelo chain. we paid for the Colonia Tropical Resort but when we got there we were actually sent to get a room in the Capella which is right in fornt and is where you get all the food, activties, beach, and pool. i got room 4108 on the first floor oeacn veiw. room was very clean and had a lot of space we were also given a crib for our son. food was great, pool always clean, the only thing that is not that great is the beach. every night they had a show that was fabulious.

| Overall we were happy with the hotel although we did not get the room we had originally booked in the smaller sister hotel across the street(Barcello Colonia). The grounds were beautiful and very well attended. Food was quite good...lots of fruits and vegetables. Fish selection was limited and not very appealing which surprised me on an island. Service was sometimes friendly and sometimes a little surly. Entertainment at the Flaming Bar was loud between 9pm and 11:15pm. We actually moved to a different room after the first night because of this.

| The hotel was basic but comfortable. The adjacent hotel provided most facilities including buffet food and entertainment which was adequate. The disappointing factor was the food was generally luke warm and appeared to be the same every day despite notices advertising different styles of cuisine. The watersports were almost non existent the hotel only wanted to sell the customers expensive diving trips.

| I must say that for the money, I tought the hotel was pretty good. We went to DR in May which is their rain season, so the hotel was on the empty side (we didn't mind, it only rain 1 morning) so the service was really good. I cannot imagine the same quality service with a full house.
