Features
What to expect: This 14-story waterfront hotel is frequented primarily by business travelers and conference attendees. From the entrance, arriving guests take an escalator or elevator to the huge lobby, with separate registration, dining, and conversational areas. The seating area has windows.

Amenity highlights: Guests have use of a fitness center, business center, and an outdoor lap swimming pool. High-speed Internet connection is available (surcharge) and express check-in and check-out are among the amenities.

Insider tip: Guests can stroll/jog/drive along scenic Bayshore Boulevard, past Tony Janus Park, and continue along the roadway, with waterfront on one side and beautiful mansions on the other. Channelside, a shopping and entertainment complex, is a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Luna di Mare - The 66-seat restaurant overlooking the water was installed in 2000 as part of a $3.5 million property upgrade. It serves breakfast (menu or buffet), lunch (menu or buffet), and dinner, with seafood and chops the specialties fixed with an Italian touch that reminds guests of the Italian Riviera. An excellent wine list compliments the entrées. A casual elegance to this bistro has this dining room serving hotel guests and locals alike. The sweet lobster ravioli is a particular favorite.

Lobby Bar - The clubby feel has a wide selection of martinis and cigars.

A mini market in the lobby serves salads and a Starbucks is available for coffee. A poolside bar is open for beverage service.

This hotel has recently been taken over by Westin. Overallk this is great hotel where I have stayed many times. This time though there were at most two of three elevators working the entire weekend with times where only one worked and that one stopped at every floor without anyone having pressed the button fo tht floor.

This hotel was just recently taken over by Westin Hotels and the few upgrades that they have made are nice. Plush robes and towels. Nice bed linens. But it appears that this hotel has not been renovated since the 70's. It will need a major renovation for me to stay here again. The location is great but otherwise, I can't really say anything positive except for the few nice employees.

This hotel was recently converted to Westin. The room was old. The tile was mildewed. The sheets hadn't been washed and were like sleeping on sandpaper. Overall, it was a horrible experience.

Small rooms, just one chair-nowhere to sit. Dirty windows and walls. Room missed alarm clock, coffee mugs, tissue. Unacceptable room food service- was promised food in 15 min, cancelled order after 48 min of waiting. Food facilities inside hotel very inadequate. Reservation system couldn't find my cancellation number- another 5 min of explanations.Very inconvenient self-parking (exit-entrance). The only positive- comfortable, clean beds.

The problems with this hotel cannot be summed up in the questions. Cleanliness, comfort, all those things were fine. My biggest problem was they charged for everything. Most business hotels offer free internet services, and have a free continental breakfast. Not here. Also, they left water bottles on the table, and when you drink them, they charge you. There was never any indication that they were not complimentary.
