Washington Suites Alexandria Amenities
Guests enjoy the convenience of 24-hour reception, express check-in and checkout, Internet access, and a multilingual staff.

Self parking:
In/out privileges. Complimentary self parking in outdoor lot.
Note: Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without prior notification.

Recreation
The hotel has a modest fitness room, and for a small fee guests can use a fitness center a mile away (shuttle service is provided) that offers classes, a jogging track, and exercise equipment. A nine-hole putting green at the hotel lets guests practice the finer points of the game, with complimentary clubs and balls available from the front desk. A large outdoor pool is open seasonally.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: A welcoming lobby and friendly service greet guests to this hotel that hosts businesspeople on short- and long-term duty assignments, and families visiting the area. It's no wonder that guests soon know the names of the employees, and vice versa. A Wednesday night manager's reception with hors d'oeuvres and beverages allows guests to meet other guests.

Amenity highlights: Free shuttle service to and from the Van Dorn (Blue Line) Metro station is available upon request. The shuttle also takes guests to nearby shopping and businesses.

Insider tip: The Shenandoah Brewing Company, 1 mile from the hotel at Beauregard and Pickett streets, was the first brewery to brew beer in Alexandria after Prohibition. You can brew your own ale or lager right there—and they clean up the mess.

Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary Continental breakfast each morning.

Duke's Market Café - This airy and comfortable dining room offers local favorites such as Maryland crab chowder and crab cakes, as well as steak, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and seafood. A children's menu is also available. A cocktail bar sits to one side of the dining room, serving domestic, imported, and draft beer, and spirits and cordials.

We had very nice accomodations. The rooms were spacious. Service was wonderful, cheerful staff. The pool was large, and the continental breakfast was above average. The diningroom was a little slow when we had dinner there. The hotel is not new, however, it is well maintained and clean. Service to the Metro was a little slow at times, but the drivers were very courteous and plesant. Overall, we had a very nice vacation and the hotel was part of that trip.

The room was very comfortable except for the fact that it did not have a desk for me to use for my computer. The internet connection offered is not high speed.

the suotes are very big and have kitchen where you can cook your meals. they have a good simple breakfast with bagels, cereal and pastries. the metro is too far to walk so you have to take the hotel shuttle. the only incovenience is that is between the shuttle and metro is 45 minutes to hour to downtown washington

Its nothing to write home about, but its a place to stay. It's a better price than other hotels, but its not the greatest. The pillows were horrible--bring your own. The elevators are small and there's only two (one was out of order the entire time we stayed there). It was a pain waiting for one very small elevator to accomodate seven floors. We could barely fit our double stroller and two other people in it. I'd recommend requesting a floor on a lower level and using the stairs. There were parts that seemed nice and other parts that seemed done half way.

Hotel was a great place to get away from the business of Washington, DC. We will definitely go back in the Spring. I would highly recommend this facility. People were friendly, being an all suite hotel it was very roomy and great to come back to after spending the day in Washington, DC. Front desk personell were always accommodating to any of our needs.

The hotel was comfortable, however, the elevators could use some work. They were taped up, and scratched. In addition, I wish the continental breakfast had more variety.
