| the beds in the room had to be the most uncomfortable beds we have ever sleeped on. On the other hand it was a great location. Walking distance to downtown.

| This MOTEL is in a great location because it is within walking distance of the Gas Lamp Quarter. The desk clerks were extremely friendly and helpful. I forgot my toothpaste and they quickly provided me with some. Although I didn't eat the complimentary breakfast, it was slightly better than I expected. There were fruits, breads, muffins, pastries, cereals, toasters, assorted juices, and hot beverages. Note: Even though I have written a number of positive things, don't be deceived. The room was clean, but didn't seem well maintained at all. The carpet made you feel like you really didn't want to walk around barefoot, the wallpaper was peeling, cracks in the tiles and walls were poorly patched, the window handle broke when I tried to open it, and all the reports of the miniature bathtub are true. It's like standing in a big sink. I don't know why they just didn't put in a shower pan. Also, I requested a non-smoking room through Expedia, but the motel computer said we requested a smoking room. There were no non-smoking rooms available, so we spent the night in what smelled like a used ashtray. This motel is definitely not a dump or some run down crack house, but I was disappointed in the appearance. I chose "recommend" because it has a good location, the staff was pleasant, and it was relatively cheap.

| I found this hotel to have a great location and price as I searched for hotels to stay at during the Rock and Roll Marathon. But when I got there, I found a pretty poorly kept up and very dirty room. And the bathroom tub is about the size of an oversized sink, about 3 feet in length, so I had to forget about taking a bath after the marathon. But I have to admit, if priced and location are your most important items and all you really care about is a place to sleep, this is the place for you. They also have a decent continental breakfast and they share the Quality Inns pool next door.

| This hotel was adequate for its age and condition. It has been adequately maintained. The room needed (or was missing a table). Guess I could have asked for one. Room was clean and well serviced each day. I was there for 8 days. Only its location (if you need to be close to downtown) would warrant the rates charged. I would stay at this hotel again, but only if I got rates through a discounter.

| The room was clean. Continental breakfast was not so good, but there is a cute cafe just down the street. Was min. away from Balboa park and the zoo.
