Lake Michigan’s shoreline is just 7 blocks east of the hotel. A 20-mile path along the lakefront is popular with runners, cyclists, walkers, and skaters. Features
What to expect: With design cues from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie School, the hotel’s subdued earth tones, warm wooden furnishings, and indirect lighting create a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere for both business and leisure travelers. In the quiet lobby, floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto bustling city streets.

Amenity highlights: This Historic Landmark hotel provides intimate meeting spaces that are ideal for small business functions or social events, with catering by Prairie, the hotel’s nationally acclaimed restaurant. Comprehensive business services are available through the front desk.

Insider tip: Everest, one of Chicago’s premier French restaurants, is located 3 blocks northwest of the hotel, on the 40th floor of a Loop office building that offers sweeping vistas of the city. This is a reservations-only and jackets-required kind of place, but the four-star food, including a risotto topped with gold-leaf shavings, is worth the effort.

Prairie - Floor-to-ceiling windows draped with sheer curtains fill three walls of this 135-seat restaurant. In keeping with the Prairie theme and decor, there are bouquets of dried wildflowers and grasses. The wood-and-marble bar features Illinois wines and Midwestern beers. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily. Regional specialties include Minnesota sturgeon, rack of lamb, and Indiana duck breast.

Out of the three concierge's that I saw, only one gave good and useful information. Also, which has really disappointed me, is that I forgot a couple of garments in the closet and called not only the evening of the day I checked out but numerous times after that and recieved no call back. Considering I was a patron and guest at their hotel, you would imagine they would like to be more helpful. Other than that, the room was clean, the hotel was nice and it was in a location relatively center city called "The Loop"

Hotel Blake is ideally located near Grant Park, Museums and Soldier Field. In addition, the red-line is just around the corner, so getting to U.S. Cellular and Wrigley is a breeze. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was really comfortable. You would be crazy not to stay here if you are visiting Chi-town.

I was very impressed with the service and quality of the hotel. I picked the hotel for the price and location. I read a review that the service was not good. However, this was not true. The service was great, the hotel is beautiful. The walk to the Magnificent Mile was not bad and other attractions are pretty close by. Definitely worthwhile.

The Blake Hotel was a great place to stay. The room was very comfortable, and spotless. The only problem we had was with the phone, which did not work the entire time we were there, even though we brought it to the attention of the staff every day we were there. On Wednesday, the "engineer" did show up, but the phone still didn't work after the visit. Of course, one reason we took a few days off was to get away from the phone, so not having it wasn't a big deal for us, but it could be a problem for those who value such things. Aside from the phone not working, we had a great stay. The staff members we encountered were helpful and courteous. The hotel is very conveniently located.

I arrived at 4pm. My room wasn't ready. There were actually about a dozen guests where were already waiting in the main lobby for their rooms as well. The front desk seemed completely unprepared for guests. Housekeeping was running late. The room was clean, plush towels, nice decor, comfy bed. The service was all around the pits. No room service. Not close to the main attractions or business districts. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone one wants a nice room but doesn't expect any extras.

We loved this hotel!! A wonderful place at a great rate, considering the location. Staff was very helpful and pleasant, not at all rude as has been mentioned. Not that you'll spend much time in your room but the beds really are to DIE for!! We could not believe how plush and comfortable they were. Shower is big enough for two and complementary bath products are mall brand, not the funky ones normally found in hotels. No need to bring shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, or hair dryer - they have a high power one provided in room. Overall, we were quite pleased and would absolutely stay here again.

Hotel is ideally located in Downtown Chicago, everything at the hotel was excellent, the service at the desk, conceirge, and especially the free access to the internet with a printer. Places to eat nearby within three blocks of the hotel were excellent. Transportation from the hotel was excellent with the L-train, subway, cabs, and bus service nearby.
