Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center Amenities
Relâche Spa, the hotel's 27,000-square-foot on-site spa and fitness center, offers guests a myriad of ways to relax and rejuvenate. Set amidst the hotel's gardens, the European-inspired spa has an indoor/outdoor pool and 12 private treatment rooms (including a double therapy treatment room for couples). The spa menu offers the usual amenities (massage, facials, body therapies, salon and men's services, for example), but it also expands on them: items such as the executive golf pedicure, mother-to-be-massage, sunless tanning, and children's menu—featuring a princess up-do, teen manicure/pedicures, and a "wiggle worm haircut"—illustrate how this spa goes beyond the expected. The fitness center component has more than 30 separate stations for cardio, circuit, and weight training; personal training, body composition analysis, and wellness and fitness classes are all available as well.

Restaurants at this hotel feature steak, Italian, seafood, sushi, buffet, and more; liquid refreshment choices include a Jack Daniel's saloon, Irish pub, and revolving atrium lounge. Shops are scattered throughout the complex and offer everything from Godiva chocolate to flower arrangements to country music. Business travelers can take advantage of a staffed Kinko's business center, while the more leisurely inclined can enjoy floating through the indoor Delta gardens on a flatboat, splashing in two outdoor pools, or watching DJs in action at the on-site radio station. Kids have options, too, with La Petite Academy's child care program, which includes both infant care and a 2,500-square-foot Kids Station that offers games, art, recreation, karaoke, and more. Other amenities include a 24-hour concierge, airport shuttle pick-up, live entertainment, and wedding planning.

Valet parking:
$18 per 24-hour period
Self parking:
$10 per 24-hour period
Fees do not include tax and are subject to change without prior notification.

Features
What to expect: This 40-acre complex of guestrooms, restaurants, and shopping is anchored by two large glass atriums, both with rolling streams and waterfalls, pedestrian bridges, diverse plant life from one of 12 on-site greenhouses and a variety of eating and drinking destinations. Vacationers benefit from the close proximity to local attractions. Business travelers return for the staffed business center and flexible meeting space.

Amenity highlights: Two outdoor pools, an arcade, and a 27,000-square-foot spa and fitness center—not to mention a sports bar, an Irish pub, and several romantic restaurants—provide just some of the options for relaxation. A variety of stores and an in-house florist and chocolatier are available.

Old Hickory Steakhouse - Located inside a replica of a traditional mansion, this restaurant serves naturally aged, grain-fed Angus beef. Menu selections include premium steaks such as filet mignon, New York strip, and Porterhouse. Dinner only.

Cascades Restaurant - Located in the Cascades garden, this restaurant specializes in fresh seafood selections, including Australian lobster tails and tiger shrimp. Diners are surrounded by plants, trees, and waterfalls. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Ristorante Volare - This restaurant focuses on traditional Italian fare for dinner, including freshly made pasta and tiramisu. A great Sunday brunch destination.

Rachel's - A more casual destination for diners, this restaurant features a breakfast buffet and lunchtime deli station. A dinner buffet includes meats, salads, pastas, and desserts.

Findley's Irish Pub - Findley's serves authentic Irish entrées such as Beef and Guinness Pie, and Fish and Chips. Live acoustic Celtic music begins each night at 8 PM.

Rusty's Sports Bar - Several TV monitors, including a large video screen, broadcast sports events and other programming. The menu includes appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. Open from late morning to late evening daily.

Cascades Terrace Lounge - Surrounded by plants, flowers, and the waterfalls in the Cascades atrium, this revolving lounge makes one complete circle every hour.

Jack Daniel's Saloon - Featuring a decor of hardwoods, barrels, and Jack Daniel's memorabilia, this saloon serves drinks and snacks.

Presented by BellSouth, ICE! features a chilly adventure through a winter wonderland. The winter show presents larger-than-life ice sculptures such as a Victorian house, horse and sleigh, and a glistening waterfall—all handcrafted by more than 40 artisans in China. Guests will also see three new ice slides and a multitude of holiday creations. It's all waiting at the Gaslight Theater in the Opry Plaza at Gaylord Opryland. Warm parkas are provided for everyone; gloves are also recommended (1.5 million pounds of ice can get pretty cold).

I am one frugle son-of-a-gun. Some might even call me "cheap". So spending 2x or 3x the local three-star hotel rate to stay at nicer hotel is far out of my character. But after experiencing the Gaylord's Opryland Resort Hotel, I have already told my wife that when we return to Nashville, it is the only place I want to stay. The gardens (including waterfalls, ponds, fish) are a enjoyable fieldtrip in themselves. The Peking Acrobats were entertaining, and the food in the various restaurants was excellent. High marks for Rachel's (awesome buffet breakfast) and Wasabi's sushi menu. Only knock is that our check in was misplaced and we failed to received the agreed upon phone notification that our room was ready. Gaylord's staff apologied profusely and upgraded us to a suite, on their own inititive. Only better upgrade would have been to a garden view room, with terrace/balcony. Strongly recommend reserving one of those rooms for the additional cost. Just an awesome experience. Even for a tightwad like me.

Very nice resort hotel; we've stayed there before. I think two wings have been added since we last visited in '96. No issues except that though I prepaid through Expedia, I had to cough up another $10 "Resort" fee upon arrival. Parking is all gated and I assume the fee was for that. Very clean place with many on site shops and eateries.

The service and room comforts were outstanding. If there was one thing that turned me off it was the resort fee and charge for parking. For a first rate Hotel I thought this beneath the quality of the accomodations. The gardens were beautiful and greatly enjoyed.

Opryland is a vacation within itself, with lots of shows and attractions going on each day. It's breathtakingly beautiful, and it's worth the time to explore the entire complex. Very convenient to Oprymills Mall and other attractions. Save a little by using self parking and not eating every meal at the resort.

This is really a resort experience more than a hotel. Even the premium rooms were pretty basic, but once you leave your room the atriums full of gardens, patio restaurants, and the Delta atrium with riverboat ride around an indoor island make for a great time just wandering around the hotel. Usually if we go for a weekend we'll spend a night going to downtown Nashville and one in the restaurants, bars, and gardens inside the hotel. Walking distance to the Grand Ole Opry and a short taxi or shuttle bus ride to downtown attractions.

I can't imagine going to Nashville and not staying at the Gaylord Opryland resort. I stewed over the decision on whether to stay here or somewhere else. In the end thought "what the heck!" It was a wonderful experience. The only downside was that there was a really nice indoor pool but it was freezing! (Too cold to use the outdoor ones). I took my Mom who was visiting from England and my 5 and 2year old children. We all had a great time. It was just a short walk away from the Opryland.
