| Absolutely beautiful hotel. The courtyard was a great place to hang out and have a drink or a meal. Stayed in a standard room - the bed was decent and the room clean (but not as charming as the hotel photos appear). Great central location.

| This hotel has very beautiful rooms. Given that we payed a budget rate, we were not given one of them!!! The room that we were shown to looked like it was the maids' quarters, or at the very least, a room that had never been fixed up or remodeled. It was NOT their standard room. It took, finally, complaining to the manager to get satisfaction and service. Initially the front desk peoople were very snobby and unhelpful. Once we were in a room that was typical of what they have there, the service was great.

| Overall satisfactory, but given the pretense to 5-stardom, the service was sorely lacking -- it was friendly, but 3rd-world incompetent and blase. Rooms were comfortable, but starting to get a little shabby. The physical complex itself is beautiful, with courtyards and fountains -- a colonial Mexican gem. This is more like an excellent 3-star hotel.

| El Camino Real Puebla stays true to the Camino Real name. It had brilliant vistas, stunning rooms and luxurious service. Plus I liked how central it was to everything.

| Yes, the hotel is very conveniently located and on a colonial building that used to be a convent. But the very large patio is just stone, deprived the life and color of plants (a mexican must). The room and bath's decoration and furniture cannot be described as nice and comfortable, forget beautifull. The "servi-Bar" is not a refrigerator, just a basket. Bottled water is available at an additional charge (potable tap water tastes lousy). We won't be back. This Hotel chain has much better facilities in other mexican cities.

| Hotel conveniently located in centro historico. Shopping (especially good Talavera) a nice hike but a comfortable walk thru the Zocalo and historic areas. The rooms large but bed not as comfortable as expected with other similar chains and did not have enough storage. We needed to use our bags to rifle thru for the days clothing. Restaurant and food were terrific although breakfast buffet was more limited than we anticipated. Service a little slow but the quality of the food made up for it. Go for a pitcher of "clerico" Sangria and the shrimp tacos.

| The hotel is an old convent converted into a great hotel. Great service, the only problem is that the locals use this hotel for all their family events like weddings, anniversaries, etc. so on weekends be ready to sleep little. The location is great for sightseeing and to really get to know the city and its people.

| We had the most intriguing suite with a balcony from the bedroom area overlooking what looked like a small ballroom complete with remains of what were probably original murals and French empire furniture. Hotel is former convent with lots of charm and lovely public spaces. Definitely recommended.
