Features
What to expect: This modern-looking property welcomes guests with a three-story glass atrium over the lobby. Travelers with business at the Pentagon or nearby corporate offices talk strategy over cocktails in the lobby bar, and vacationers catch the free shuttle to the nearby Metro station, just three stops from the popular Smithsonian museums on the National Mall. Amenity highlights: A small outdoor pool and whirlpool, surrounded by a sundeck, perch on the side of the hotel three stories up. The staffed business center offers computers, office supplies, and a large color printer for making posters. Insider tip: Joggers and walkers take advantage of the nearby paved Mt. Vernon Trail. A map available at the concierge desk guides guests past a park (with basketball and volleyball courts) to the trail's entrance 10 blocks away. Rosslyn is 3.5 miles north, and the jog in that direction offers superb views of Washington's monuments across the Potomac. To the south are more Potomac views on the way to Alexandria and Mt. Vernon.
Chesapeake Grill – With superb nighttime views of National Airport and Washington, the Chesapeake Grill attracts more than its fair share of couples looking for a romantic evening. This top-floor dining establishment serves fine American cuisine for dinner. Chesapeake Bay crab cakes are a house specialty. Cinnabar – This casual restaurant, which opens to the hotel's atrium, serves breakfast and lunch, usually offering a buffet as well as à la carte options. Geometric green and red wood paneling adds a touch of class, and pastries made by the hotel's pastry chef are a constant temptation. Lobbibar – This lounge, with its elegant, modern striped chairs and dramatic lighting, offers signature cocktails, gourmet pizzas, and a cigar of the month. A big-screen TV shows important games, and live piano music orchestrates the happy hour. Perks – This grab-and-go coffee shop in the hotel lobby sells Starbucks coffee along with fresh fruit, pastries, and sandwiches.

| I got bored staying in my room, so I went down to the Lobbibar. It was very nice with a big tv and seating arrangments were perfect for a select few, or for a crowd.

| My son and I stayed overnight at this hotel while we were in Arlington for my dad's funeral at the National Cemetery. We requested a non-smoking room and when we got off the elevator we were greeted by smoke fumes. We went to the assigned room anyway, but after opening the door there was no way I was going in. Back to the lobby and another wait in line to get a different room. This one was on a non-smoking floor. None of the quick dial extensions worked on the room phone, so we had to be switched around through the hotel operator for all our in-hotel calls. We spoke with someone about leaving a wake-up call but no call ever came. Good thing my son set his watch alarm. Our dinner at the restaurant on the top floor was excellent and we recommend the crab cakes and fish. They were not accommodating with a "late check-out" on the day of the funeral, although the hotel did not seem full. The breakfast at their 2nd floor restaurant was extremely overpriced and we had very poor service - we spent $36 for yogurt, fruit and coffee for 2 people. Our waitperson never once checked on coffee - we had to flag down another waitperson several times in order to get a refill. My recommendation to anyone who needs to stay in the Arlington area is to not stay at the Hyatt - it was a huge disappointment after staying at a number of other Hyatt's, including the one here in Phoenix.

| This is only a 3 star hotel. While the staff, lobby areas, valet, concierge, etc. all act quite like it is a 5 star.....the rooms are just ok. Carpets are dirty, linens are old, bathrooms are not as clean as I prefer. Pool on the third floor is pathetic, and gym needs a/c badly. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. The rooms need a lot of attention!

| The hotel looked a bit worn and especially the carpets were in a sorry condition. Attention to detail was poor and the cleaning was under all standards. There was constant fluff on the carpets and the bathroom was never properly washed. Somebody had used the handtowel for shoe shining when I checked in. The results of my shaving were left in the sink for at least two days . There was a renovation ongoing, which might explain and correct part of the problem.

| I was extremely impressed with the staff. They were all very helpful, available, and friendly. I was there for a conference, and even the security and conference room staff were terrific. The hotel itself leaves much to be desired however. I stayed in two different rooms when I was there, and my co-workers shared my experience as well. The rooms were dirty, somewhat smelly, and in a general state of disrepair. Wallpaper was peeling in rooms, the carpet was stained in many places, and the room was very dark. The conference area was no better. Overall, the staff makes this hotel stand out. I had a 4 day stay and they were impressing me at every opportunity. I would stay there again if the facilities were improved. The condition of the hotel is not representative of the price being paid for a room.

| I didn't realize that Crystal City was quite a ways out of DC. The hotel is a little too far from the metro stop for a walk (especially at night), so you have to wait for the shuttles which run every 30 minutes and are somewhat inconvenient. The hotel was a 5 minute shuttle from the airport. The condition of the hotel was fair - nothing spectacular - but adequate for the price.

| Well, I thought when I paid a little more for a room, I would get more ammenities. The continental breakfast was anything but free. The wireless internet access had a fee.. And the parking prices were ridiculous! Got food in the bar and the service was terrible. The food was cold by the time it arrived 45 minutes later. Hard to understand a lot of the staff. The good thing was that it was clean and in a convenient location. The front desk/ room service staff was fairly friendly.

| The hotel was very convenient from the airport and to and from the downtown DC area (via cab or car rental). The hotel staff were very nice and helpful in assisting us in tours of DC. Our room was okay, no frills and very warm (to the point of being uncomfortable). The front desk informed us that this was probably due to renovations being done on the hotel. Overall nice trip.
