Recreation
Guests can exercise in the hotel’s fitness center and use the outdoor splash pool in summer. A block west of the hotel is Rock Creek Park, a 1,750-acre forest with numerous paths for hiking, running, biking, and horseback riding. Mountain bikers enjoy pedaling along the C&O Canal towpath that begins five blocks west of the hotel in Georgetown. Public tennis courts are located 2 blocks north. The nearest golf course is 18-hole Hains Point, about 3 miles away on the banks of the Potomac River. Features
What to expect: Well-heeled guests converge under the gold-capped dome in the lobby, from corporate travelers to celebrities to couples attending a performance at the Kennedy Center, 6 blocks away. Lofty ceilings, large mirrors, and contemporary furniture convey an aura of relaxed elegance. In the upstairs halls, there are bowls of fruit for guests.
Amenity highlights: Sunlight filters through a wooden trellis built above the outdoor splash pool, keeping portions of the slate patio shaded during Washington's notoriously muggy summers. The fitness center is equipped with exercycles, treadmills, free weights, and cross-country, weight, and stair machines. Young guests can call the hotel's "story line" to hear prerecorded children's stories.
Insider tip: The terminus for the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal is 5 blocks from the hotel in Georgetown. From there, the old waterway courses through 75 locks and verdant woods before ending in Cumberland, Maryland, 185 miles away. Mules still draw barges—now carrying tourists—on the water. The towpaths along the canal are popular hiking and biking trails.
M Street Grill - Guests can order breakfast from the menu or enjoy the buffet overlooking the patio in this lofty dining room interspersed with thick, gray columns. Café on M - Traditional American fare, such as steak and salmon, is on the menu in this dark, paneled restaurant with white banquettes. Open for lunch and dinner.

| My family and I stayed for 4 nights at the westin Downtown. The hotel was in a graet location. We were near a metro station and were within walking distance to Georgetown. The hotel staff was very polite. The room was clean. We enjoyed the pool every day. I enjoyed an apple in the lobby each morning. I recomend this hotel for a family vacation.

| Hotel was conveniently located, staff was extremely courteous and responsive, and the room was very quiet. I only wish they had more cable channels to choose from and rates were better.

| Near everything, plus got a decent rate for that area. If you are going to stay in DC, and not be at the white house, this place was nice!

| My husband two year old and I stayed at the Westin Grand in DC for two nights. It was my two year olds first overnight stay at a hotel. BK (Before kids) my husband and I stayed at this hotel and knew how nice it was. The best part of the rooms at the Grand are the bathrooms. They have a separtae tub with jets and a handheld shower. Well my two year old LOVED it! I knew she would. She loved the "heavenly bed" they tout as well. She is not allowed to jump on the bed at home but I had to let her do it there. ANd let me tell you they are nice and live up to their name. Luxe sheets and the softest pillows and down comforters. It was hard to get out of bed! The location of the hotel is in walking distance (with a stroller to Georgetown) and three blocks to the Foggy bottom Metro which would take you any where. One day we walked to The Mall and Lincoln Memorial with no problem either. There are closer hotels but for the price you can't beat the Grand.
