Features
What to expect: This renovated Chattanooga landmark—listed as a National Trust Historic Hotel of America—is known for its Georgian architectural style and deeply Southern elegance. The quarter-sawed English walnut paneling, old-fashioned drop mailboxes and elevator dials, and terrazzo-poured marble floors give the lobby the feel of a museum or library. The clientele is primarily corporate during the week and upscale social on weekends.
Amenity highlights: The hotel includes Porter’s Steakhouse, which provides guests with 24-hour in-room dining upon request. All common areas have complimentary wireless Internet access. The hotel provides guests with complimentary shuttle service to any destination within a 15-mile radius, by request. The business center is open 24 hours.
The hotel is located across the street from a downtown shuttle stop. The free shuttle extends from the Tennessee Aquarium to the Chattanooga Choo-Choo and includes Chattanooga Lookouts Bellsouth Park (AA baseball), Tennessee Aquarium & IMAX Theater, Children's Discovery Museum, Chattanooga Regional History Museum, Warehouse Row Outlet Stores, Southside Antique Galleries, and restaurants.
Porter’s Steakhouse - Upscale, Chicago-style steakhouse. Light hardwood floors, separate bar area. Serving only USDA Certified Prime or Certified Black Angus steaks. Menu also includes an array of seafood, pastas, ribs, and pepperloin (a house specialty). Meals presented simply. Open for lunch and dinner. Starbucks - Expansive, 4,000-square-foot coffee shop attracts guests and locals.

| The staff continually asked for our credit ard for incidentals after we repeatedly gave it to them. They called our room at least 4 times for this info -- and because we booked with Expedia it said in their system we paid with cash. The room service and front desk staff did not communicate well on this issue. The hotel pool was freezing and it took three times to the front desk to find out that the indoor pool would not be heated until later in the week- after we departed. It took 3 calls to the front desk to get our movie ordered on the tv becuase the front desk did not hit the submit button. Overall, I was very disappointed in the so called quality of this renovated hotel. But the valets were wonderful, courteous, and very efficient.

| We arrived at the hotel at 3pm and our rooms were not ready. They stored our luggage and took a cell phone number but by 7pm there was no call back. When we called I was informed I was already inhouse! Our rooms had been ready for almost 2 hours. The wait was unacceptable considering I had shortened my stay to one night just to stay at this location. A previous stay provided much better results. We were told sorry, and that was it. In addition, two vagrants were wandering the halls in search of food. The hallways were not well lit and there were no visible security cameras.

| The Sheraton Read House has been beautifully restored and is a welcome change from cookie cutter modern hotels. The staff is friendly and responsive. The indoor pool is very nice with an attractive waterfall. Porter's is a terrific restaurant but it is pricey....the pepperloin is outstanding.

| Recently renovated with new furnishings. Rooms were nice, however ours was on the smallish side. Pool left something to be desired, as it appeared a bit unkempt & unclean & water was cold. Hotel is several blocks from the restaurants & sights; there are several closer. However, one of these was held up in broad daylight while we were in Chattanooga.

| The hotel is very nice and right downtown. They have very comfortable beds and you do not hear the other guests. The restarant"Porters" had good food and excellent steaks. They also had a good exercise room and a great indoor pool. I liked the valet parking because we didn't have to look for a parking space. There is a free shuttle that runs to several attractions like the Aquarium that picks up right outside the hotel. That was very convenient. I was surprised that they did not have an ice machine and vending on every floor but that was minor. The desk seemed very responsive to any questions and very pleasant. I would certainly stay there again.

| Hotel was beautiful, and staff was great, however, the room was like a prison cell, fitting a bed, desk and chair rather tightly, one had to walk sideways to get into the bathroom. Had I ordered a small room it would have been okay, but I ordered a king with a sitting area, and ended up with a queen without even a standing area.
