Features
What to expect: An atrium lobby is bounded by a coffee shop, gift shop, chocolate shop, two restaurants, and an intimate new lounge. The hotel is popular with visitors to the local technology companies, colleges, and museums. It’s especially popular with families during college events at MIT and Harvard University. In summer, the hotel’s plaza takes on a festive atmosphere, with the antics of street performers.

Amenity highlights: Guestrooms are nicely furnished and appeal to the business traveler, with desks, comfortable desk chairs, data ports, and high-speed Internet access. A heated indoor pool, whirlpool, and 24-hour fitness room are relaxing options. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the CambridgeSide Galleria and its 100 shops. The Kendall Subway Station is across the street for quick trips into Boston and Harvard Square.

Insider tip: The hotel’s concierge has details on the many museums at MIT and Harvard. And two blocks from the hotel is a paved path along the Charles River. It’s perfect for walking, running, cycling, and inline skating, and is a great spot for watching rowers practice for the annual October regatta.

Characters Bar & Grill - This casual sports bar is open for lunch and dinner, serving tasty hamburgers, salads, and pasta dishes. It's a good place to relax with friends around TVs, pool tables, video games, and foosball.

Parmizzano's Italian Caffe - Guests have a variety of seating options, from tables to booths near a wall of glass windows. The restaurant serves a fine Continental breakfast with eggs, home fries, and pancakes. For lunch and dinner, delicious steaks, fish, and pastas are served Northern Italian-style.

The Lounge - This intimate new bar opened in 2002 and can comfortably seat 40. It’s perfect for sipping cocktails with someone special.

Starbucks - This upscale coffee shop sells freshly brewed coffees, teas, and pastries.

It was a trip for my family to Boston and this Marriot Hotel in Cambridge, MA was a great choice for our trip. It was located in very convenient yet quiet area near MIT campus and to me this hotel was like a 4-star rated hotel. The overall service was great and we did enjoy staying in this place...

We booked this hotel for a brief overnight stay in Boston. It was so spacious and comfortable we were tempted to stay another night, and will certainly return.

If you visit the Cambridge side of metropolitan Boston, and especially if you are technology oriented, this is the best place. It is near the T (red line) and the MIT COOP, near restaurants and coffee shops (the coffee quality is doubtful, but this is the US....). The only down side is that service, although friendly, is a bit slow.

Hotel is convenient to the subway, which makes getting around Cambridge and Boston easy. I've had problems with being double-billed which took two phone calls to resolve. Tempurature in room was never quite right. Limited room service menu. I didn't find the mattresses terribly comfortable but room was sufficient size.

The hotel has the overall ambience of most Marriott's -- middle road comfort. It is well run, the fitness center and pool are fine, the room was immaculate. The hotel is not immediately near anything touristic, but is right next to the T-stop (red-line) and thus has access to all of the Boston area. It is within a short walk of MIT and the Technology centers that surround it. When booked through the Expedia package, it was a real bargain.

Accomodations were fine. Biggest complaint is that there isn't a breakfast restaurant in the hotel (there is a Starbucks, with a limited menu and seating and an adjacent food court with fast food alternatives). Big plus is that a Legal Seafoods restaurant is close by for lunch/dinner.

The Marriott is a perfectly nice hotel in a great location. They have a nice view. We had a room opposite the elevator--usually a terrible thing--but the soundproofing was so good we didn't hear it at all.
