| The hotel was set up to be funky and relaxed and that's what it was. We didn't spend much time in the hotel but it was a fresh change fromt he cookie cutter hotels we normally stay at. It was a little further from the Metro than we would have liked, but a very good place to stay.

| I was looking forward to the stay as I had a week in the hotel. A few easy things for Kimpton to fix: the yoga channel did not work the entire stay (kept looping back every 20 seconds of play); they only offer "subsistence" cable, no premium channels; the wine selections in the cheery bar were from a beer company! The people were very friendly! The folks in the bar admitted that wine was not their strong point; the concierge/bell person was very helpful getting the DSL working, etc. The next street over has a Whole Foods (great take out), Starbucks and Pharmacy...very handy. The hotel is the new and up and coming area of DC...enjoy!

| The room was too small, and staff a bit clueless. Our mini fridge did not work, and we asked several times to have it changed. First time, no one came. We called a second time, and they replaced it without making sure the second fridge worked. We called a third time to let them know it was not working, and they stated that the fridge does not get cold as others. I'm guessing it is too much to ask someone to check the power.

| The Helix sets its hip-to-be-me-tone with lots of pop-art touches throughout the hallways and rooms. The bar just off the lobby was a happy-hour hot spot, but service in general coud have been a little better. The valet seemed to disappear often, I saw check-ins standing around witht their cars, looking lost. My king bed was nestled in a funky alcove, the desk was small but offered sufficient room for my laptop, and there was a handy powerstrip easily accessible for peripeherals. The bathroom was stricty one-person affair... you had to close the door to get to the tub/shower. Fun, but not for an extended stay.

| This was an awesome place to stay. a beautiful, chic and trendy spot in DC's hippest part of town (NW). A win win for Kimpton and for any out of towner looking for somewhere hip and fun. The lounge/bar is also a cool hang. check it out!

| I had high expectations before staying at this hotel based on other reviews and their website. I am pleased to report that all my expectations were met and even exceeded. The bed was luxurious, the room very large and well appointed (I liked the Ken and Barbie pictures). The Aveda bathroom products and thick bathrobe very appreciated. When my room service order was stuffed up, they gave me a free breakfast voucher. Good service!

| Who doesn't love a Kimpton hotel? I've stayed at three out of the 6 in DC, and this is my favorite. The staff is warm (other Kimptons in DC feature notoriously snooty staff), the ambiance is fun, and the outdoor lounge is very very sexy. Plan on enjoying the 'Lounge' every night for free champagne (they pour unfortunately) but don't plan on eating in. The food is completely mediocre. For example, the breakfast they serve is tres chere and tres boring. I used to live in the neighborhood and recommend, instead of paying $3 (I kid you not) for coffee, take a block walk to the Whole Foods on P between 15th and 14th for warm bakery items or healthy snacks for the day, then wander back with your much cheaper and tastier coffee and breakfast.

| hotel was too retro; felt like Austin Powers! room had view of dumpsters and loud air conditioning noise that made my nights rough. room service was a bit rude when we asked for ice. and some of the TV options did not work. hotel entrance was not impressive at all and area seemed a bit on the low side and uncomfortable to walk in at night (or even during the day!). definately not worth a 3.5 stars; i would give it max of 2.5! it's not worth other Kimpton properties i've been in. this one should be out!

| Obviously a very hip place to stay and to socialize. I enjoyed the pop culture decor and most unusual room design. Good location, helpful staff. Fun atmosphere. Champagne at 5!
