Features
What to expect: The small, marble-tiled lobby is furnished with French and English antique reproductions. Weekdays, guests are primarily business travelers or groups attending on-site meetings or seminars. On weekends, tourists arrive, attracted to the hotel’s two-block proximity to the Foggy Bottom Metro and Georgetown’s shops, cafés, and historic sites.
Amenity highlights: The paneled Library Bar is an intimate spot for drinks or dinner. Murals of bookshelves and leather-bound volumes decorate the walls. In warm weather, seating spills onto Pennsylvania Avenue. Jazz musicians and pianists perform nightly except Sunday. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available throughout the hotel.
Insider tip: The Kennedy Center, five blocks from the hotel, presents a free show daily at 6 PM. Performers include French folk dancers, jazz quintets, children’s choirs, and storytellers. The shows take place in the center’s gleaming Grand Foyer overlooking the Potomac. After the performance, guests can have drinks on the terrace beyond the foyer’s 60-foot windows or dine in the rooftop restaurants.
The Landmark Restaurant - American cuisine with a creative flair. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch buffet. Contemporary room with seasonal outdoor dining. The Library - Old leather-bound volumes—real and painted on large murals. Pianist or live jazz Monday through Saturday nights. Cocktails, light fare, and dinner daily. Open late morning until late night.

| Near enough to Georgetown to walk to dinner as food in the hotel is overpriced. Staff has been there as long as we have been staying at this hotel (4 years); they seem very proud of their hotel and do remember repeat visitors-always a nice feeling. Rooms have been renovated, cozy and clean; only problem with our room this time was there was not a proper closet.

| In selecting this hotel, I was interested in finding a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel near the office I was visiting. The Melrose exceeded expectations. The big rooms, fine service and comfortable bed, all at a good price, makes this the place to stay in the Foggy Bottom area.

| This hotel was great. The location was perfect, 15 minutes walk to the Lincoln Memorial, 5 minutes to the Metro station at Foggy Bottom and less than a 5 minute walk to Georgetown. The hotel bar, The Library, is very nice. Great sandwiches and a very friendly bartender. The room, #832, was fine. Right by the ice machine but we never heard anyone. No view from the back but not a bif deal. Only negative is the very small area by the sink. It's really in the hallway to the bath, so the space is really tight. And very warm, the lights put off alot of heat and the A/C doesn't reach back there. Very clean and well maintained. No problem with the valet. I would stay here again.

| My husband and I were very pleased with the Melrose. It was clean and well maintained. The room was very comfortable. All in all I had researched many hotels thru Expedia and I feel it was well worth the effort. We were not disappointed. Also the location was great for not having a car in D.C.. We either walked, took the Metro,a station is two blocks away, or went on tours for the whole week and it worked out well.
