Features
What to expect: Just off the highway and across the street from the Chicago El train, this budget-friendly hotel is a welcome surprise. In the lobby, black-and-white checkered marble floors are offset by rich wood columns and accents. An adjacent library features chandelier sconces, leather club chairs, potted palms, and heavy drapes to block highway noise. A work desk provides complimentary high-speed Internet access.

Amenity highlights: For winding down, the hotel has a heated outdoor pool and fitness room with cardiovascular equipment. The front desk gives guests free passes to a health club 1 block from the hotel, with an indoor running track, spinning classes, an indoor pool, and a spa. The hotel's free airport shuttle, which runs every half-hour, will also make stops at the health club.

Insider tip: Chicago's Blue Line El train stops across the street at the Cumberland station. Because it's hard to cross the busy thoroughfare, guests may prefer to ride the hotel shuttle to the station, where they can take the El to the Loop theater district and other downtown Chicago attractions.

Garden Café - Across from the lobby library/lounge, this restaurant offers seasonal American cuisine for all three meals, with buffets available at breakfast and lunch. The lounge bar opens at 4 PM every day.

My friend from Arizona had a long layover in Chicago, so we stayed at the Ramada for the night. The service was mixed- the gentleman that checked us in was courteous and jovial, the barmaid/waitress wasn't very attentive, and the man that checked us out in the morning was quite rude. The hotel overall was nice, though the condition of the bathroom was a bit shabby.

Overall not a bad deal for the price. Had some concerns before getting there after reading previous reviews, but I was relatively satisfied. I did not try to use rail service from the hotel, so I don't know how difficult it would be. Rooms were ok, breakfast bar was pretty good but a little pricey considering many other hotels have some free breakfast options.

This hotel is adequate for travelers, but not really worth the price. The rooms are comfortable, but the front desk service is slow and not necessarily professional. Overall, the hotel is adequate, fine for 1 night stay.

Well it started with me arriving hours prior to check in time . The staff checked our bags and worked diligently to get us a room even though they were booked full . to no end they came up with a room a short time later which we desperately needed after a red eye flight. that was just the beginnig the staff was there to serve every need , give directions ,sound advice and deliever a great atmosphere and provide a great stay and make my whole trip a great experience.

My only complaint is that if you are traveling using the trains it is almost the last stop on the route from the loop so it takes about 40 min to get to the loop. Other than that for us it was great.

The hotel amentities were fine. I was annoyed by the shuttle service. The staff at the front desk were not helpful. I also had to wait 40 minutes for my shuttle to arrive.

If you want good friendly welcome when you have come from a long fly, don't count on one. Very unfriendly and perhaps attitude, the hotel overall is nice and access to transportation is very good if not driving around.
