| This is a nice hotel in middle of metropolis except for a few glitches. We arrived at the hotel in the morning from the airport and the hotel could not find my reservation. Front office staff though courteous were non-committal about my room reservations and were directing me to the agency that booked my hotel to file a complaint. Very worrisome for our group since we were extremely tired and warm at that time and just looking for a room to rest and stow our luggage. After showing them a print out of my booking they said that they will try and look for a room for us and will give us a call. Emphatically told us that the hotel does not do early check-ins and even if they were able to find us a room we would have to wait for the check in time around 2pm. So our group went out for breakfast and within 2 hours the hotel called and were able to give us a confirmation number for a room. We got a suite which was what we reserved and it was satisfactory to our taste. Breakfast at the hotel is also highly recommended with a lot of choices.

| The Makati Shangri-la Hotel in Manila is truly a five star hotel in every way. The service, restaurants, cleanliness, and appearance of the hotel were suberb. Recent renovations to the foyer and the rooms make the hotel grand, yet modern. I look forward to my next stay at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.
