Features
What to expect: This hotel, with its strongly tropical ambience, is part of the lushly landscaped and self-contained Grand Cypress Resort that covers 1,500 acres. The 18-story, pyramid-shaped Hyatt Regency has three guestroom wings and a 200-foot atrium lobby. The hotel opened in 1984, and the rooms were completely renovated in 2001. Free shuttles are available to the nearby theme parks. Amenity highlights: Recreational choices include an 800,000-gallon pool; 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus–designed championship golf; and equestrian, tennis, and fitness centers. The private lake offers sandy beaches, canoeing, and sailing. Supervised activities are offered for children and families, and, on Saturday nights (weather permitting), kids are invited to a beach fire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. The resort offers five restaurants and four lounges. Insider tip: Guests can walk through 45 acres of natural Florida environment by taking the Audubon Walk, with its elevated boardwalk and interpretive signs.
White Horse Sports Bar & Grill - In addition to big-screen TVs at the bar area, this restaurant offers an expansive appetizer list and entrees such as steaks, fresh seafood, and tender lamb chops. Diners can enjoy an ice-cold beer from the bar or a glass of wine from the select wine list. Hours of operation are subject to change. Palm Café - This deli-style restaurant and general store is great for guests on the go. Open continuously throughout the day, the casual setting offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as an outdoor patio dining area. La Coquina - The hotel’s more formal dining room overlooks Lake Windsong. A champagne Sunday brunch (seasonl) features a French marketplace theme. Hemingways - Set atop a rock grotto overlooking a palm-fringed, lagoon-like pool, Hemingways recreates the ambiance and flavor of Old Florida, from the pre-dinner specialty drink, “Papa Doble,” to coffee and dessert. Outside, the screened patio offers a relaxed open-air atmosphere. Cascade - Accented by a brass spiral staircase and a 35-foot bronze mermaid sculpture, the hotel’s main dining room offers views of the lagoon and Lake Windsong.

| Can't say enough about our stay here. Everything was first class. Staff was extremely helpful and room was clean and updated (except VERY cold when we first entered, leaving some condensation on desk). We didn't have time to try the more upscale dinner restaurants, but casual dining was good. Check serving times - we thought it was all day dining and almost missed lunch. Overall, a great experience. We plan to stay here for all our Orlando visits!

| Spent a night here after a day trip to Orlando and visit to Disney waterpark. My three kids LOVED it! They even said the hotel was better than the amusement park. The kids were delighted with the two pools and slides, bike trail, and the speedy glass elevator in the open lobby. Great alternative to staying "on property" -- much less crowded, more relaxed, easy access to restaurants and drug stores. (We drove to Orlando, so had use of our carand do not know if hotel has shuttle bus to parks.)

| Our second stay at the Grand Cypress in July was top notch, as was the first stay, which was 2 years ago. The plant/trees/grounds could not be kept better.

| I was extremely impressed by this hotel. The only thing that I could pick on was the plastic shower curtain. It billowed in a bit while showering. I would definately return to stay at this hotel for future visits to Orlando.

| Excellent Resort. Beautiful grounds, awesome pool, kayaking on the lake, and a fun pitch and putt course. Who could ask for more? And it's cheaper than the Disney hotels. You'll need a car, but it was close to everything and getting around was easy, even during a busy week.

| Actually, hotel is the wrong word...this truly is more a resort than a hotel. The views are most impressive, and the service was outstanding. We only had two minor issues that kept this from a top-rate experience; due to a conference that was happening during our stay, the elevators were often difficult to catch (full) and the large parking lot was overflowing. Even with these issues, we definitely will be returning to the Hyatt...maybe next time, just to hang out for the weekend (or more)!

| The hotel was beautiful and the staff was exceptional! We loved our stay and would love to return in the future. Our 7 year old loved all the activities for kids and had a ball on the waterslides. It was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it to other families. It is also located extremely close to all the Disney Parks.

| This place had it all!!! The food was excellent at both the White Horse and especially Hemingway's. Brunch was also terrific. The pool is large enough that you never have to feel crammed while in the water or poolside. There is plenty to do at the hotel (on site boating, pitch and putt) and you are closer to Disney then you probably think by looking at maps. The parrots in the lobby are also fun to see when walking by. The staff is quite helpful but not in your face. Overall great, can burn a hole in your wallet if you aren't careful and/or prepared.
