We did extensive research in looking for a downtown Labor Day weekend hotel that provided a value for the price. After staying at the hotel, it did represent a "value" for the price. Good location, quiet, clean and not overpriced.

This hotel is great for a short or long stay in Vancouver. Located in the West End, it is a short walk to the downtown area (20 minutes walk to the Convention Center) and a ten minute walk to the Bay. It is in a busy neighborhood with lots of restaurants. I would recommend a First Nations restaurant, The Liliget Feast House, as a great local meal to the hotel. For those interested in such things, the gym at this hotel is better than the average hotel gym. The equipment is nearly new and of good quality.

This hotel is perfect for the person going to visit Vancouver that does not want to drive to shopping, eating, and sight seeing locations. The staff and room are bonuses added to the already convienient location. I would recommend this as a place to stay in Vancouver. This was a great way to show off Vancouver to first time friends visiting from San Francisco.

great location. very hip & happening, without being in the chaos of robson st. walkable to yaletown, gastown. beautiful suites. full-service kitchen. great service. nice outdoor pool. only drawback was that the elevators have a tendency to get tied up. this can be a pain if you're on a top floor.

We were given a smoking room when checking in, and didn't realize this until we arrived at the room. I spoke to the front desk and they told me to speak with the manager in the morning. The next day, an extremely apologetic manager quickly changed our room. We had our new room by 9:00 am. The hotel isn't the best place if you want really nice accommodations, but is central to transporation, and good for the money. The hotel staff was very kind and helped with any questions we had.

I spent 2 nights in a very clean, comfortable room with a fantastic city view. The shower was exceptional, the queen bed extremely comfortable, and the kitchen well-stocked with everything I needed with the exception of a water pitcher. They were a little stingy with the towels, but responded within the hour to my request for more. It was very hot during my stay, but the air conditioner did a great job of keeping the bedroom cool, and was quiet enough to sleep through. From the 20th floor, there was occasional muted street noise, but even being directly across from the elevator, I heard no noise from the hall or nearby rooms. Every staff member I encountered was exceedingly helpful, and each one took the time to show me (on a city map they provided) how to get to my various destinations. The hotel is walking distance to most of the places I wanted to see. There are plenty of local places to eat, and 2 very close grocery stores if you choose to go that route. All in all, I considered this a perfect stay, and would recommend it to anyone.

The staff at the Sandman on Davie St. was wonderful, every question was answered, our car was brought to us promptly when requested. We only had 3 items that we not satisfactory. 1) Our room on the 9th floor had little to no water pressure and it "spit"at you when it was 1st turned on. 2) Our paticular room did not have good internet access. 3)The one evening we did have cocktails in the adjoing lounge, the service left much to be desired. But we were'nt the only table being ignored. Other than those things, our stay was pleasent, comfortable, and within easy walking distance of most places we wanted. We would definately stay again.
