| We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and roomy. Good food at the restaurant there. Ask for a room with a river view if you really want the best.

| The supposed non-smoking room smelled of smoke. The walls in the room were very thin and I was kept awake two nights in a row by the people in the next room. The restaurant lost our order and we waited almost two hours to get dinner. They did comp the dinner and the food was very good.

| This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. Very roomy for a very decent price, and with plenty of things to do. The river runs right by the Restaurant. And their food is outstanding. This has been, by far, the best hotel I have ever visited. I would definitely book this hotel again if I ever happen to pass through the Eugene area again.

| This was a nice hotel. Large rooms and a friendly staff. We did have a few small problems though. The mini-fridge was disgusting, I wouldn't have put food in it had I noticed it's condition before having food. It just makes me wonder what else wasn't clean that we couln't see?! Our key (magnetic) didn't work in the outside door so we had to use the lobby, which was at the other end of the hotel, most of the time. The other problem was that we did not get clean towels for our entire stay (5 days, 4 nights). Check-in isn't until 4pm. They also charged for local calls ($.75 each).

| The rooms at the Valley River Inn were quite large--even the Deluxe (which is their standard room). The extra room was much appreciated since we had our busy 1 1/2 year old with us. Our only complaint was that we requested a quiet room so that our toddler could get some sleep, but we were placed between several rooms of college football players, who also happened to be staying there. There were several young men in the adjoining room who came in just after we put our daughter to bed. The staff told us that the football players would be checking out the next day, but failed to mention that it wouldn't be until after 4pm, and therefore after the time that our daughter needed to nap. We were moved/upgraded to another building after unsuccessfully trying to get our child to nap the next day, but then the fire alarm went off. When we evacutated the building, we locked ourselves out of our room. The staff was nice enough, but we felt that they really screwed up to begin with by placing us in a room adjoining football players.I wouldn't book a room with them again unless there was a special rate going on. Also, there isn't much difference between their room categories since the rooms are pretty much all the same size, so I'd recommend booking their lowest rate.
