Great location for central Toronto. Room was quiet and well appointed. Not a new hotel and it has been a while since the last renovation, but everything was clean and the staff were excellent. As long as you can get a good rate this is the place to stay downtown.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at the King Edward. The staff was very friendly. The room was very nice; just a little on the small side for what we paid per night, but certainly not cramped. The bathroom was big, clean, and comfortable. Our one complaint would be that the concierge recommended a restaurant that, in our opinion, no rational person would ever eat at voluntarily (Bombay Palace on Jarvis St). Aside from that one blip, the hotel was great and I'd highly recommend it.

When I arrived to check in and found myself watching the break-up of a black-tie dinner (men in top hats, women in bona fide evening gowns), I realized that I had not just changed spatial coordinates, but also migrated back in time. One hasn't seen a degree of fastidiousness, or a standard of manners from the staff like this in a hotel, I presume, for generations. The place is so nice, in fact, that I felt a bit dumpy walking around in blue jeans. Feeling inadequate, I could hide in my room, which was large, sunny during the day, and which featured a cozy king-size bed. Feeling emboldened, I could relax in the hotel bar (The Consort) and enjoy an aperitif or a snack in regal surroundings. Feeling footloose, I could easily make my way to the Harbourfront, the University area, the theatre district, or any of the other major neighborhoods (the subway is also a mere block away). Highly recommended.

While this is an older hotel, service was great. Location is walking distance to lots of attractions. There is a TTY stop for the trolley car across the street and a subway stop one block away. Staff is pleasant and helpful - gave excellent directions. Suite was large and very comfortable. Towels and slippers are a nice touch! Would recommend it highly.

Recently spent 3 nights here. Great location in downtown - can walk to lake, theatres, shopping and subway. My friend and I requested twin beds, but only king size bed was available. We made due since the bed was huge and so very comfortable. Great bathroom, amenities and the water pressure was fabulous! Which may sound corny, but have you ever showered with poor water pressure?

We were very satisfied with the hotel. The only thing we weren't totally satisfied with was the size of the TV. It was hard to see from across the room. Other than that everything was great. The rooms had a nice little touch and were different from the ordinary "feel" of a traditional hotel room. We would definitely go back if we were going to be in Toronto.

Liked it very much, the location is great and so are the facilities. Don't eat break-fast in the hotel, it's extremely expensive.
