Features
What to expect: Originally built in 1912, this hotel looks and feels like a grand castle, right down to its stone façade guarded by two golden lions. The interior is elegant with long hallways and large common areas under coffered ceilings, gold-painted moldings, crystal chandeliers, and French antiques. The typical clientele includes business and leisure travelers, celebrities, and U.S. presidents. Amenity highlights: The four dining and beverage options range from casual to formal, from New England oysters to award-winning steak, and include a lounge known for its martinis. The fitness room offers everything from security cameras to the latest cardiovascular equipment and weight-training machines. Yoga, aerobics classes, and spa treatments are offered at the women’s health club next door, for which discount passes are available at the front desk. Insider tip: Boston’s free summer concert series takes place across the street in Copley Plaza. For art lovers, the South End Open Studios—in which Boston’s painters, sculptors, and photographers invite the public in for a show and sale of their work—is a favorite event each September. Hotel guests are within 4 blocks of the lofts and studios of this popular event.
The hotel offers 21,000 square feet of meeting and event space with a grand ballroom that can accommodate a maximum of 1,000 guests. The Oak Room, Wine Room, and Singleton Room are small, popular spaces intended for more intimate gatherings, such as business breakfasts and wedding luncheons. The Oak Room - This restaurant offers a traditional steakhouse menu with a selection of fish entrees. Seating is arranged to impart a sense of privacy. The room features crystal chandeliers and 30-foot-high, vaulted ceilings with detailed plasterwork. The walls contain a variety of big-game taxidermy trophies, giving this place a hunting-lodge ambience in a ballroom setting. The restaurant is open for dinner only and reservations are highly recommended. The Oak Bar - Especially popular Thursday–Saturday evenings, this romantic spot is reminiscent of a British officers’ club from the Orient in the 1890s. Dark-wood paneling and a gilded, coffered ceiling surround the tables. The bar has a wide selection of unusual martinis, including the so-called engaging Martini, which is served with a $10,000 diamond. Copley’s Grand Café - This is an elegant room with huge windows that overlook Copley Plaza and the historic Trinity Church. Open for breakfast and lunch with a menu of New England dishes, including Maine lobster rolls and baked Boston scrod, this café’s Sunday brunch is very popular. Copley’s Bar - This intimate, wood-paneled bar with comfortable seating is adjacent to the Grand Café. It serves a variety of cocktails, a light menu of soups and sandwiches, and is known as a meeting spot after a day of shopping or business.

| We were in Boston for our daughter's move-in weekend for college. The only complaint was we booked two rooms for 3 nights, requesting at booking connecting rooms but they were unable to honor that request upon check-in at 3 pm. The valet staff was efficient with unlimited in and out parking privileges, which we took advantage of many times! We found room service to be a bit pricey and just okay. We did enjoy the walk across the street to the Copley Square Mall with many nice stores and restaurants. We will be returning!

| This is a lovely old hotel. But when I arrived at Midnight, they had sold my room -- other guests had overstayed. Since I already paid for the room through Expedia, this was not what I expected. I even called to tell them I would check in very late. They put me up at the Radisson for the night for free--OK but not great. Also, they hadn't actually called the Radisson to see if they had rooms--I got one of only two available. They were nice enough the next day to check me in to an upgraded room and bought my lunch in the very lovely Oak Room. Our room faced the plaza with a view of Trinity Church. Nice room, 6th floor. You take your life in your hands if you check in late.

| The Fairmont Copley Plaza is beautifully located in Boston's Back Bay -- nestled between the shopping of the Prudential and Copley Malls, Boylston's ritzy shops, the theatre district, Chinatown, the Common and the Public Gardens. The views of Trinity Church and the Hancock building (which share the plaza with the hotel) are among the best urban scenery in America. The hotel interior is like an Italian palace, the Oak room is stunning (though Pricey), and the staff was professional and cheerfully helpful. We loved it here! They're also pet friendly and even provide a hotel mascot dog you can pet or take for a walk! The room was lovely though a bit small. The bathroom was comfortable and beautifully appointed in marble.

| Took my wife there for her birthday weekend. When the person at front desk learned that it was her birthday she arranged for a complimentary bottle of champagne and truffles be sent up. What an unexpected surprise. We will definetly be back. Well located in heart of Boston. Grand old dame of a building.

| We had a great time in Boston and enjoyed everything about the Fairmont Copley Plaza except the size of the room. Assuming that all rooms are not the same, your experience might be different. The hotel is clean, has great old character, the Oak Bar is amazing, the service was friendly and prompt, and the lobby area is beautiful. The only drawback was that the room was about the size of a large walk-in closet, certainly tiny for the price. I sat on the window ledge to watch the Preakness on TV because there was only room for one chair and there were two of us. But the bed was very comfortable with good pillows. All in all, a great stay.

| Authentic gentlemen's club feeling. Beautiful but old. Rooms are quite different from "modern" hotels in terms of style and ambiance. If you'd like to stay somewhere charming, this will fit the bill.

| Excellent for our honeymoon night! ONLY complaint was that we only had one chair suitable for dining in the room and one of use had to sit on the ottoman at the end of the bed. Room service and the food from the Oak Room was outstanding. Truly the best steak I've ever had!
