I stayed here almost 30 years ago. It has been well maintained, with nice large rooms, lots of storage space. Much more personality than the standard "Chains". The staff was very helpful and friendly. Probably one of its best features is it is centrally located close to downtown, Forest Park, The Loop and shopping. I would definitely go back!

We stayed at this hotel when we moved our son to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis/Clayton. Extremely easy to find on the main highway, and only blocks from the seminary. It had courteous staff and underground parking. There was also free shuttle service to area attractions, but we didn't use the service. The rooms were comfortable, but had outdated fixtures in the bathroom and there was no hair dryer. Continental breakfast was decent, but not as nice as some others I've seen. Decor in the lobby area was a little odd, lots of birds mounted, and the carpeting looked as though it could be replaced in the hallway areas and elevators. I would not hesitate to stay there again on my next trip to see my son!

Hotel had an older class of guests which kept it on the subdued side. Quiet neighborhood also. We didn't spend much time at the hotel but our 2 nights were fine. Underground parking and easy access to the room was a plus. Didn't use the pool, pub, or dining. Room and bathroom were smallish but clean.

The service was the worst that I have ever seen. The English setting was very nice but the hotel messed up our reservation and then got our check out date messed up. The water pressure was terrrible and the room that was supposed to be non-smoking smelled like there had been smoking. The hotel did have a perfect location for St. Louis. Anywhere we went we were just a few minutes away.

The Chesire is one-of-a-kind. It is beatifully decorated and makes you feel that you are in an English inn. The hotel bar is awesome, and it is definetly worth spending an evening relaxing with a couple drinks. The hotel offers a free shuttle service that will take you anywhere downtown. The only problem we had was with the people at the front desk. They are unfriendly to say the least!!! Despite their rudeness, everyone else there is very hospitible. I would recomend this place, and I'll probably stay there again. I will just avoid the front desk at all costs.

this hotel is great! It is set up to feel like you are in old europe. There is tons of memorabila around, great hand painted murals, extremly fun. The pool is also set up really nice. Oh, and the pub that they have inside the hotel...EXCELENT! If I can get cheap tix out there again, I would go back just to stay at this hotel and nothing else.

The Cheshire Lodge is located in a very convenient place for getting to any part of St. Louis. Many families were there during our visit, but it was very quiet - there must be good sound proofing. We enjoyed the pool area and the shuttle particularly. Parking was free and easy to manage as they have their own underground garage. The free continental breakfast was a little skimpy but adequate. All in all a great value.

This is an older property designed to look even older, think Tudor England. The decor is funky, kitschy Olde English with a few French influences thrown in for good measure. We didn't stay in one of the theme rooms, but they looked like fun. Our room was large and comfortable, if a little shopworn as befitted the general decor. Antiques and antique wannabees figure in. All in all, an interesting place to stay. We'll go back.
