Features
What to expect: Las Vegas grew up around the Stardust's 62 tropical and desert acres on the north end of what became known as The Strip. Here, traditional Las Vegas still exists via a mahogany-paneled steakhouse, a softly-lit lounge offering musical acts, an elegant casino, and sundecks and pools to restore and refresh after all-night entertainment.

Amenity highlights: The tropical-garden pool complex includes two pools—one free-form and the other rectangular for lap swimming. Between them rises a large sandstone structure in a coconut-palm grove. Each side of the massive rock shelters a 10-person spa that's always open for social soaking.

Insider tip: In addition to assisting commercial travelers with services and cellular phone rentals, the resort's business center rents digital cameras to vacationers.

William B's Steak House - Polished mahogany, brass, etched glass, and sepia-toned photographs create a turn-of-the-century setting for steaks, chops, seafood, and other dinner fare at this steak house.

Sushi King - This restaurant offers Japanese cuisine, including a sushi bar.

Island Paradise Café - Open 24 hours, this café serves everything from snacks to full-course meals, including Chinese lunch and dinner specialties.

Tony Roma's - Barbecued ribs, chicken, steaks, and other grilled items are offered at this chain restaurant.

Coco Palms - The Coco Palms serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets.

The resort's shopping mall includes Bono's, a Chicago-style sandwich shop; Swenson's ice-cream parlor; a snack bar; and a coffee/pastry shop.

Room service is available 24 hours.

Big-band dance concerts are held throughout the year in the Stardust Ballroom, featuring the music of Ray Anthony, Les Brown, Glenn Miller, Russ Morgan, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Guy Lombardo, Benny Goodman, and Woody Herman.

Stardust Pavilion plays host to concerts, boxing matches, and, in December, the National Finals Rodeo.

The casino supplies 85,000 square feet of poker, slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, pai gow poker, Caribbean poker, keno, baccarat, and mini-baccarat. The casino includes Carousel One, a secluded high-limit lounge. Stardust Race and Sports Book establishes an early line that's followed across the country.

Stardust Player's Club offers free membership cards that reward table-game and slot players with comp rooms, meals, and shows.

Award-winning illusionist Rick Thomas to open at Stardust March 25, 2005
A professional illusionist for more than 20 years, Thomas' unique style of performing is characterized by a graceful stage manner that reflects his early theatrical experience as a national ballroom dancing champion. Accompanied by a troupe of showgirl-dancers, the 6'4" showman employs intricate choreography to embellish his large-scale illusions that involve exotic birds and motorcycles in addition to jungle cats. His trademark illusions include shrinking a snarling 500-pound royal white Bengal tiger into a cuddly cub and levitating a showgirl high above the stage and then making her disappear.

Rick Tomas holds several honors, including the prestigious "Magician of the Year" award presented by the Academy of Magical Arts. He was named "Stage Magician of the Year" on the television special "The World Magic Awards." He has appeared on two NBC "World's Greatest Magic" specials and starred in his own ABC special, "The Magic of Rick Thomas." His illusions have also been seen by TV audiences on A&E, the Discovery Channel, and the Learning Channel.

my first hotel i ever stayed at was the stardust in 1986 and stayed there june 2-5, 2006. i figured this would be the last time because they are taking it down in december 06. while not a fancy hotel by any means it has everything the fancy strip hotels have to offer if you can live without gold plated sinks and persian rugs. i only had one problem and the sink plug got stuck and would not open. i contacted the front desk and they fixed the problem quickly. you have to remember that this hotel was built back in 1958 so do not expect the glitz and glamour and hoopla that the new strip hotels have. for the price you can't beat it but the days of cheap hotels on the strip are coming to an end. it will be sad when they take it down but vegas is constantly changing and the stardust is it's latest victim but in it's heyday it was the premier hotel and made vegas what it is today

My second visit to this hotel/casino. I took a lower floor room in exchange for an early check in. After driving all night I was really happy they offered this! This room was as comfortable as my previous room on the 35th floor. The room was clean and quiet. Staff was very nice. I wish they had more 5 dollar multi-deck Blackjack tables open in the casino, but that is a minor problem. If I can get back to Vegas before this hotel is closed I will stay here again. If not, I will have a hard time finding this nice of hotel at this great of a price.

It was our first trip to Vegas. We chose the Stardust because of the reasonable price. We spent our money on shows and fun. The buffet was really good. The room was comfortable but outdated. It was relatively clean. The casino was OK, a little smokey at times. We liked the fact that it was away from all the traffic and noise. The place was cozy. Overall, we'd stat there again.

Booked online. Upon arriving, no non-smoking rooms available. Took a Villa room on the first floor, made getting to gaming very easy. Pool was a nice get-away from gambling.

Knowing the Stardust is one of the older casinos in town, I was bit nervous booking but was pleasantly surprised. There's not really any indication it's old other than that it is "just a casino hotel", no amusement rides, gimmicks or attractions. My parents thoroughly enjoyed Steve Lawrence and Edie Gorme while we were there. Our party of 8 were all very happy with our 4 day stay. Only problem was with the service in the Cafe, but you can certainly go somewhere else to eat.

This hotel is one of the older hotel on the Strip, but is kept up well. At night time it is one of the best lit hotels. For the money, it has very nice rooms and a great view of the Strip. Very nice pool and lounging area. If you play the slots, make sure you play the dollar slots closest to the front entrance. I won $2000.00 on one and had only put in $20.00 in the machine. Check in and check out was very fast and they even comp us our breakfast.

The stay at this hotel was my third time. I really enjoyed staying the hotel. It is not so far from the most fun section of the Strip. The hotel has very nice restaurant with affordable price. What amazes me most is the service at the casino. Dealers were very friendly, and I didn't have to wait at all to receive my drink. The single deck Black Jack is the best thing to play at the casino. I had a great time at the hotel.

Hotel was a very "typical" Vegas older casino. Had requested non-smoking, but was bumped to a smoking room. Room size was average, although TV was realitivly small. Stardust is located a little bit further from other hotels and casinos. Casino personell were very friendly. If you like the more "old school" type of Vegas environment, than the Stardust is right up your alley.
