What to expect: Although the Georgian façade is English Heritage listed and the interior retains some original features, the decor is modern, Scandinavian style. The result is an informal and relaxed ambiance, with friendly and helpful service. Amenity highlights: The atrium-style health club provides gym, personal trainers, single-sex saunas, and solarium. The Terrace restaurant is situated in a vast, plant-filled conservatory and also has a summer patio. This series of Georgian shop-fronts now contains cafés, bookshops, and other stores, but was once home to W B Yeats. Charles Dickens lived in part of what is now British Medical Association House, just opposite the hotel.
