Inn and Spa at Loretto-A Noble House Hotel Amenities
Larger-than-life bronzes of Native Americans, animals, and children join traditional folk carvings and other local art in the public rooms and throughout the grounds.

Just beyond the lobby's glass wall is a patio with a large pool, heated throughout the winter, and two open-air spa tubs. The inn offers an array of one-of-a-kind shops selling Santa Fe art, clothes, and accessories.

The on-site restaurant features regional American fare and views of the adjoining Loretto Chapel.

Recreation
The hotel's outdoor pool, heated year-round, is large enough for lap swimming. Two spa tubs are also on-site. The health club includes treadmills, stationary bikes, weight equipment, and plenty of room for stretching.

The city's Fort Marcy Recreation Center, with a jogging track, tennis courts, large lap pool, weight room, classes, and cardiovascular equipment, is 1 mile away. Within a few miles of the inn are golf courses, horseback riding, hiking, hot-air ballooning, and mountain biking. Ski Santa Fe, about 30 minutes from the hotel, offers downhill skiing and snowboarding on a 12,053-foot mountain with powdery snow.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: The inn's pueblo-style architecture with its multiple levels—like a stack of sculpted boxes—makes it one of Santa Fe's most photographed buildings. The lobby features a glowing fireplace, huge bouquets of fresh flowers, and a sculptural fountain of children at play. The lounge, just beyond the concierge desk, has a fireplace with a large sculpted bighorn-sheep skull and folk art. There's live music here nightly. Glass doors open onto the pool and sculpture garden. The inn caters to business and leisure guests who appreciate its sophisticated Southwestern style and convenient location one block from the Plaza, the city's hub.

Amenity highlights: The hotel's intimate SpaTerre features Southwestern-, Indonesian-, Thai-, and Native American-inspired treatments. Signature services include the Sacred Stone Massage, the Native Desert Sage Massage, and the Volcanic Earth Clay Ritual. The Javanese Lulur Royal Treatment culminates with a soak in a claw-footed tub filled with fresh, fragrant blossoms.

Insider tip: The Sisters of Loretto opened their school for girls on this site in 1853 and began construction of Loretto Chapel in 1873. The chapel resembles France's Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, with stained glass windows imported from Paris. When the school was sold in 1971, city officials recognized the chapel as a historic structure, preserved for its architecture and spiral "Miraculous Staircase." The chapel hosts weddings and classical concerts.

BALEENsantafe - Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, this restaurant features ocean-inspired cuisine with local and regional flavors. Guests can dine indoors or al fresco on the patio during warmer seasons. Signature dishes include Maine lobster, Gulf shrimp enchiladas, herbed goat cheese-crusted rack of lamb, and river-rock roasted rainbow trout.

Lobby Lounge - Tables are crafted of hand-painted wood, pounded copper, and glass tops over Native American drums. Live music is presented in the evenings.

The entrance of the hotel is phenonenal, and the outdoor restaurant is spectacular. However, the rooms do not match the hotel common areas. Thre wa a hole in the chair, the TV was about 20 years old, and so old the sound was annoying. Please update the rooms.

It may be sheer blind luck, but we were assigned the Artist in Residence Suite, with a balcony right above the main courtyard. The room was decorated with great art, and our balcony had a great view, accented by a huge stature of an Indian in the corner. Baleen is a very good restaurant, eat outside, although it is not cheap. Altogher, an elegant ans sophisticated hotel without the pretense of some of the more famous marquis resorts. If you've never been to Santa Fe, there is hardly a better choice.

A great place to stay. Everything at your fingertips. The restaurant was terrific. The bar is very cozy with live entertainment. The Loretto Chapel next door is a must see. And definitely schedule a hot stone massage! The room was comfortable. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Even enjoyed the shops in the lobby! Will definitely make a return visit.

Beautiful architecture -- perhaps the most attractive hotel in Sana Fe from the outside (which is why we decided to stay there). Odd arrangement of public facilities inside. No newstand. Staff poorly trained/managed, leading to unpleasant experiences (eg, being turned away from breakfast in the dining room at breakfast time because a big event was planned; the maid banging repeatedly on the door at 8:30 am on Sunday to clean the room).

Excellent accommodations and service. The restaurant food and service was also outstanding. Food pricing was reasonable, especially for Santa Fe. Valet service was friendly and helpful.

Hotel was quite nice, but restaurant was expensive for breakfast - $80 for 4 people is a bit much. Santa Fe is now very expensive and overloaded with shopping "experiences." But, the area is beautiful and the weather good.

good hotels are hard to find in Santa Fe. The location of the Inn is excellent, the staff accomodating and friendly. (A very nice and informed woman works at the concierge desk...she is most helpful with our travel plans). The rooms and bathrooms are quite shabby and in need of renovation in order to fit the description of a "best quality" hotel.

Extremely well managed and friendly staff. A little pricy but it off-sets the great location and environment. Try the calamari, we had it twice!
