| This is a quaint Mexican Hacienda style Hotel just a 2 minute walk from the heart of San Diego Old Town. The rooms are nothing special, a bit old-fashioned but clean. There are however 3 major drawbacks: 1 The architecture is such that there are several buildings such that you may have parked your car close to the lobby but a long way from your room. Also the layout is quite confusing. 2 Parking away from the hotel lobby is not ample and you may have a longer than pleasant walk with luggage etc to your room 3 Finally, and in my opinion the unforgivable bit: the staff were not at all pleasant. They gave us the furthest room from the lobby on the top floor of a building with difficult access despite our having a young baby with us. Directions were given in 'tape recorder' fashion and were very poor given the strange design of the hotel. Maps provided were practically useless. Shame about the above points because otherwise the hotel is quaint, ideally located and had a great buffet breakfast. Overpriced given the service though!

| A lot nicer than anticipated. Very clean, updated and spacious rooms. Nice pool and the location was excellent. We were able to walk to Old Town Park, local shops and restaurants, and the trolley station. Only amenity missing is a compimentary continental breakfast!

| I find the Old Town to be the most beautiful place in San Diego. The hotel is very well located and you also have free parking. The rooms are huge but they are not all the same. If you book a room with 2 queen beds, note that you might get a room with only one queen bed. However, we were lucky and they managed to change one of the 2 rooms we had.

| We stayed 5 nights. Room was a bit hard to get to, 3 elevators, up on the hill. Beautiful views, but should have requested a lower floor room for easier access. Easy walking distance to Old Town shops and food. Hotel staff helpful with tours and transportation requests. Had some problems with noise. 5:30am group down the hall had a number of people in their room and out in the walkway--we had to ask them to move somewhere else so we could sleep! Perhaps some info should be given guests on being considerate of others. Sat. night, quite noisy very late. Room nice, just hard to get to.

| Room was not ready at check in time even after the front desk people assured me that it would be ready. After delay I found the room to be tired and in need of an update. One light did not work, sink and tub drained very slow. Fan in bath made so much noise you could not sleep with the both light and fan on. Hotel has a nice location, but is not worth the money you pay.
