The hotel is a nice hotel. Not a phenomenal hotel, but a nice one. The rooms are very nicely decorated, with a more modern feel. The service by the staff is outstanding, second to none. The room was actually a large two room suite: Living room, Dining room, kitchen, and large master bedroom and adequate bath. It had locked, covered parking, which in this part of Hollywood is a real plus. It was very nice, but I felt it was overpriced for the quality of the overall facility. The reason they can get that price must be that is is one of the only ways you can get into the private magicians club called the Magic Castle. I would consider staying there again, but only if I really wanted to go to the show at the Magic Castle.

What it may lack in newness it makes up for in location, style and service. Only 40 rooms with lots of extra amenities compared to other rooms in this price range, the service would compare to the best of the best in any 5 star resort. To a person, the staff was cordial and professional and attentive. Our suite was clean and nicely decorated with HUGE rooms, fully stocked kitchen, and a very comfortable queen size sofa bed. Our teenage daughter enjoyed the free DVD access to new releases, and the 24 hr access to the pool. Parking was the best rate of any we've found, and the best part was we could just leave the car and walk to most everything. Graumann's, Kodak Theatre, Hollywood at Highland shopping center, the Jimmy Kimmel Show, the Hollywood Bowl, tour buses, and the Castle's own magic show performances were all within 2 blocks. We drove the coast of California from Sausalito to San Diego on this trip, and the Magic Castle was our favorite of all the hotels we stayed in. We're telling everyone we know about this place, and we're definitely going back.

The room was dirty, old and out-dated. Across the street there were bars on the windows. I did not feel safe there with my kids. We were suppose to stay for two nights and left after one night. They were nice and refunded our money for the second night.

I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Rooms were clean Bed was very very comfortable. Staff was fantastic. We had map quest maps for places we were going and they reviewed them for us and gave us copies of maps they had with much better directions. They were great. They offered us a stack of carry out menus for places that delivered to the hotel when we got in late one night and wanted delivery. The carry out services were great for this area. Hotel is in great location. Walked to hollywood blvd everyday - very short walk-less than a block and right at the chinese theater where the tours depart from. Very centrally located. Very secure and well lit. Pool open 24 hours. (quiet pool time 9p-9a).

I don't understand why people do not like this hotel!! This was our first trip to Hollywood and certainly won't be our last. It is a small hotel and ideal for families. Our room was huge and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

The Magic Castle Hotel is an excellent choice in Hollywood. It is within walking distance to many places such as the Hollywood and Highland complex with restaurants, shops, entertainment, etc. We could walk to the Hollywood Bowl. A great benefit is that there is always someone on duty at the front desk 24 hours a day and they want their customers to be happy. Every member of the staff was exceptional. The hotel provides van service up the hill to Yamashiro restaurant which has an incredible view for miles around. We cannot wait to go back.

The hotel doesn't impress in many respects: getting to our room from the garage required climbing two flights of stairs; the bathroom was a dingy (as was much of the rest of the room and the hotel); and the services were few in number. But we couldn't have been happier. The staff was very friendly, the availability of suites (with kitchens!) at such low cost is wonderful, the pool was great, and the location was very convenient for us. For families traveling with kids, having a kitchen and a full dining table is worth more than thick towels or room service. We'll definitely be back.

I really loved this hotel and the staff was fabulous! However, there are no elevators - the hotel is garden style, so pack light. The hotel is only one block from Hollywood Blvd. and 5 minutes from the Kodak Theatre. There were also lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance and my tour package picked me up right at the hotel.
