| Friendly & polite staff. Great location in the center of downtown Halifax, right next to the historic Halifax Citadel & within walking distance of great shops & restaurants. Nice pool, although the hotel was a little run down & the 'gym' had a few dinosaur pieces of equipment that did not work optimally. I was constantly disturbed by slamming shut of doors around my room & woke up with a migraine both mornings!

| The hotel is old and unimpressive. The room rates are just slightly lower than neighbouring hotels so it's not worth it to stay here versus one of the much nicer hotels located near by. Also someone pointed out before, there were several college students that made lots of noise. But they did allow me a late check-out which was very nice.

| We were there Memorial Day weekend. We were within walking distance of historical attractions, but many other hotels were too. Apparently, each weekend a hoard of pre-teen atheletes along with their parents descend on the hotel. They were noisy and left tons of trash in the hotel hallways. The parents didn't seem to mind, and the hotel continues to permit them to stay. Wouldn't recommend anyone staying, unless you want that kind of atmosphere.
