What to expect: This hotel once dazzled the likes of Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford and was the site of the first Academy Awards® in 1929. Amenity highlights: The ornate Spanish Colonial lobby houses a corner bar next to a European-style restaurant. Dining and refreshment highlights include Theodore's, serving California and Continental cuisine, and the Tropicana, offering poolside service. The outdoor, heated pool features an underwater mural by David Hockney. Insider tip: More information on this hotel’s fascinating, celebrity-rich history is offered in its press kit, which can be requested from the hotel’s sales office. The kit includes a flier titled Tall Tales, which documents many of the hotel’s purported “hauntings” (as in actor Montgomery Clift’s old room, Room 928).
Theodore’s: California/continental cuisine is served for all meals in a European-style setting adjacent to the hotel’s original lobby. | Beautiful hotel built in the early 1920's, renovated recently, just a great, secure place. Meant more for single adults and couples I think. The dim lighting really adds effect in hallways. Alot of history in this hotel. A Little on the pricey side for parking and breakfast but absolutly worth it. Highly recommend checking this hotel out for the great price on expedia.com.

| This hotel was accessible to everything and everywhere. It's in the hub of Hollywood. The service was exceptional. Definately will come back.

| This hotel was located in the middle of all sorts of fun things to see. It was a little upscale and modern. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and over looked the pool area. At night we went down to the pool area and hung out at the bar area. They had music playing and the atmosphere was pleasant. Lots of people just hanging out relaxing, chatting, drinking, just having a good time.

| Very nice hotel overall in a great location. Alot of things to do in that area and surrounding areas. Hotel was very nice and the pool was amazing. The only thing i didnt like is that they charge you for everything including if you use the coffee pot in the room. I thought they could of had at the least included that. Besides that i would give it a 4 out of 5.

| I only had the opportuinty to stay 2 nights- but wished I had extended my stay longer. The hotel is beautifully furnished and reconditioned. My room was tastefully decorated and offered a great view. The bar was quiet and a nice escape. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable. I go to LA frequently and will plan to stay again!

| Fantastic all around service. Take full advantage of all that the hotel has to offer including both their restaurants. Sunday pool parties are the best in Hollywood. Hotel is at your service.
