| Taxis in Miami have no idea where this hotel is or how to get to it. The street address doesn't help them at all (taking a taxi from the airport can be a very difficult experience.) Bring your own transportation (rental car?) if you intend to stay here. A taxi ride from here to South Beach can be $20 or more.

| Located next to the City Center and to Little Havana and Miami's bustling "Latin quarter," the Miami River Inn offers comfortable, clean rooms, off-stret parking, a generous complementary breakfast, a swimming pool and deck area, all nested within a quiet tropical setting. By far the best dollar-for-value hotel we have found in the Miami area.

| My main complaints about this hotel are the lack of service and lack of amenities in the room. No bedside table on either side, for example, very threadbare towels. The person who checked us in announced that the air conditioning and heating did not work in this room (it was cold that night) and when I asked for an extra blanket, he simply said "no." I tried three times to find a person to check out with (following their request to check out the day before if leaving before 10:00) and could never find anyone. Even for a budget hotel, with a slight amount of effort, pager for desk staff, a few more comforts in the room (luggage rack, hair dryer?) it would have been acceptable. As is, we will not go back.

| The hotel was great. I was impressed with the hospitality and the look of the hotel. Loved their outdoors area. It felt like home. And the antique decorations were beautiful. The room we stayed in was stayed in was small but cozy and had a welcoming warm touch to it.

| This is a very sweet inn, though I experienced a few hiccups in the service. My room was large and furnished with quality antiques, very pretty to look at though the bed was squeaky and slightly uncomfortable. They served a tasty, simple buffet breakfast with complimentary newspaper poolside in the morning, very pleasant. I really enjoyed the relaxing and somewhat nostalgic atmosphere. The service was not perfect, they did miss cleaning my room one day and were unable to activate the phone in my room. If you like staying in places with character and are not intolerant when it comes to service and amenities you may enjoy the Miami River Inn as a peaceful, historic respite from hectic Miami.

| Small B&B near downtown. Very easy to get to. Only down side is parking very limited and the gate is locked after 11pm. You can still enter & Exit as they tell you the combination but it is a pain. Upside, nice pool and a outside hot tub.

| You can find better values elsewhere for the price. The room was not well maintained and it was very small. Location is not in the best area and was especially lound since it is right of the I-95.

| Just by looking at the location of this hotel on the map, I thought it is some kind of getto hotel in the getto Miami. However, it was in a quiet residential area. Several old 10-15 bedroom house converted to hotel rooms. Some of the buildings are aparments. Lots of trees between buildings and small but clean rooms. Continental breakfast at the poolside was very nice. For the price and location, I recommend this hotel for not so wealthy travelers like me.
