My husband and I just needed a place to stay overnight near my childrens' overnight camp. The staff was absolutely lovely and could not have been more accomodating. They checked to make sure the room we were in didn't smell like smoke, provided an extra blanket, engaged my 6 year old daughter... The hotel was probably amazing in its time. It dates back I believe to the late 1800's and looks like it too! It needs some major renovation work and if it got the work, it would be absolutely charming. Again, for our purpose, it was fine and comfortable but not necessarily a place that I would stay again.

My wife and I stay in older hotels such as this, and this facility is average to good.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I don't even think it deserves the 2 1/2 star rating. The hotel was lacking in cleanlyness for starters. Our first room had an inch thick layer of dust and a leaking toilet. The walls were coverd in dirt and scuff marks. It looked they last performed maintence on the room about 10 years ago. We complained and were upgrade to a suite that was supposed newly renovated. We arrived at our new room and were sadly disappointed once again. The room was cleaner, but lacked general maintence. The room had a musty and stale cigarette odor, which permiated everything. The air conditioner's control knobs were missing. When we informed the front desk, he didn't believe us. He followed us up to the room, and turned on the air conditioner with a set of keys. Unfortunately, it was not powerful enough to cool down the room and only made the odor worse. We didn't even end up staying the night. This hotel was in the worst condition I have ever seen. It was almost as if they did not care about upkeeping the hotel or meeting minimum sanitary conditions. To top off our evening, they even closed the hotel bar at 9:30pm. We had been there previously been to the bar about 1 year ago with friends.
