Given location and amenities, its a nice place to stay with small children. However, the hotel is understaffed and the restaurants are relatively expensive with poor service. The staff is friendly - just stretched too thin or in some cases inexperienced. The carpet in our room was in pretty poor shape but otherwise the room was nice and the grounds are well maintained and attractive.

Overall I really like this hotel. We have 2 small children 2 and 4 and this is our third year coming to Paradise Point. I love the Lagoon Pool that is heated, gently sloped (like a beach) and has sand right there. It is located right on the bay so that's fun as well. We love the family style bikes that you can rent. And this time my husband even rented a jet ski. Fun! It's perfect for families. There are LOTS of families there. My only real complaint is that the maid service was very late in cleaning our room, usually not until 5pm. The restaurant is pricey and the food is only OK. If you have a car there are other nearby restaurants that we go to. There is a refrigerator in the room so we usually buy breakfast stuff at a grocery store and that cuts down the cost too. Overall I really like this place. We plan on going back next year as well.

The resort was nice and easy to get around. The room had a bottle of someones lemonade and some of the lights weren't working. We had planned a night of fine dining but they didn't mention that the had booked a wedding for the night.

Upon driving into the Paradise Point property, I was very impressed with the grounds. Once I got to the registration desk, I was disappointed to learn that there would be an additional charge for a parking spot(even though it was directly outside of my room and specifically marked with my room number). The person checking in beside me was told by an employee that it was because "parking is a premium in San Diego." The room was okay, nothing spectacular and less than expected for the price. While I wasn't in the room that much, I did notice that local network television channels were not very well received. Upon calling the front desk, I was told that they were aware of the issue and the engineer was working on it...four days later the problem remained. On a positive note, the location of the property was good for access to the beach and San Diego spots. I can see where families may enjoy the options the property provides....there were plenty of children abound.

Booked our stay at Paradise Point Hotel expecting a lot, though one can't really trust pictures on the net to be accurate we were still looking forward to our stay. The grounds are nice with mature vegetation, good walk around the property at the end of the day. Our room, though clean, for its rates, could use some updating. There were bugs/ spiders by the couch which was close to patio door, so we kept it close most of the time. Though we had a good parking spot by our room, we were charged extra for it. Hotel is close to Sea World and Bay which was nice. For the rates it charges, we expected more from the hotel, should have chosen to stay somewhere else.

We like paradise point for family vacations because of it's own beach, fun pools and proximity to San Diego attractions. It's lovely and does not have a rival, in our opinion but we try not buy any thing at the resort itself due to the exorbitant costs of sandwiches, drinks, mini-golf, etc. There are so many other great places to eat that are close that it is not worth eating there. They should also provide a hose bib outside the room or somewhere so you can rinse the sand off before going inside or packing up the beach toys.

We thought the Paradise Pointe hotel was set on pretty grounds and had alot to do around the hotel. Legoland is 45 minutes away, Seaworld and beaches is 5 minutes away. What we did not like about the hotel was the housekeeping staff came very late in the day and said they had a very full morning and could not get to our room earlier than 4:30 or 5:00 and with young children after a very fun yet exciting day it was difficult. The bathroom always felt dirty and the toilet was too low for our liking.

We had a great time , but the hotel could use some updating. The hotel complex itself is huge. We got lost each time returning to our room. Always bring a map. The grounds are stunning. The palm trees and lagoons make it seem like a tropical paradise. We had herons at the pond outside our room each morning, that my daughter delighted in feeding. Unless you must have an ocean/ bay view, save the extra money. At first I thought the bureau in our room was shabby chic, then I realized it was just shabby. An old refrigerator was placed on it, awkwardly. There was a coffee maker on the bureau as well but the only place to use it was to place it on the floor, since there was no outlet nearby. The bathroom needed updating too. Everything was functional and clean, but the hotel was pricey for that kind of room. The property is undergoing renovation, with a new conference center being built now. Perhaps this is just a temporary issue. We spent very little time in the room, anyway. San Diego is a great city with so much to do, and the grounds at the hotel are magnificent. Bike rentals are not available for children, however, even though the hotel clearly caters to families.

Very nice hotel. The grounds are beautiful, very tropical. Rooms are like bungalo's, very quite, remote. Great for kids. It has 5 pools, the beach, volleyball court, croquet, tennis, bike rentals, putting golf course. Nice restaurants right on the water.

My husband and I took our two sons, ages 8 months and 21 months, on vacation to San Diego. We chose to stay at Paradise Point, as we stayed there a year ago and really enjoyed it. This stay was very different, though. The line at check-in was over 40 minutes long, which seemed like forever when waiting with two tired kids. After spending less than 10 minutes in our room I noticed that the bottoms of our feet, and our babies knees were black from the dirty carpet. We had to lay a blanket on the floor for them to play on the rest of the vacation. We asked for a crib at check-in (we had brought one with us, but needed a second to accommodate our 2 boys)...four hours and four phone calls later we finally got our crib at almost 9pm. Room service was prompt, but the food was marginal at best. On a positive note, the pools were enjoyable when they weren't too crowded. The grounds were nice to walk around, except for the room service trays that had not been picked up from outside various rooms. However, we will not be returning to Paradise Point again- this hotel needs some serious maintenance and upgrading!
