| This hotel in the Chacao area of Caracas is a good choice for business travel and pleasure trips as well. It is conveniently located in a central area and close to the subway. I did not take my lap top on this trip but there are several internet shops within easy walking distance of the hotel. There is a nice plaza and several stores/restaurants within two blocks of the hotel. You have to be aware of the areas of Caracas where it is safe to walk at night but the immediate area around the hotel is one of the nicer areas of the city. The complimentary breakfast is above average and the full service restaurant is very good and there are a number of eating places around the hotel. The only note of caution about the hotel is that any questions you ask about services in the area will receive answers geared towards steering you away from going outside of the hotel and towards letting them provide you with a service at an inflated cost (I was told there are no suitable restaurants or stores near the hotel when, in fact, there are dozens within two blocks). TV channels in English and Spanish are adequate. There are no irons allowed in guest rooms but housekeeping staff will press clothes for a gratuity. This appears to be a very popular hotel with international and local business people as well as government officials and must be booked well in advance. I had no issues with my Expedia reservation and check-in was smooth. Next time I travel to Caracas I will stay at this hotel.
