This is a nice hotel although the rooms are small. We had 2 double beds and one was about 6 inches from the wall and the other was very close to the airconditioner. You might have about 3 feet between the end of the bed and the tv. A family with small children would find it uncomfortable because there's just no room to move around. We were primrily just sleeping there while site-seeing, so not a real problem. Bathroom was fine. Breakfast buffet is very good but pricey. Limited menu if you don't want the buffet, but costs almost the same. Walk to the metro is about 8 blocks or so. Downhill to get there but uphill back. The area seems fine for walking, even a little later. Generally well lit execpt for in front of a church and people out and about - just be smart.

The desk employees where very helpful. They helped navigate us. They remember little "perks" of the hotel that we liked. The location was great for resturants and going to the Metro. The rooms were clean and had a fresh smell. We were very happy!

Finding a good quality, well-located (within walking distance of Metro), reasonably priced hotel in DC is getting more and more difficult. The Courtyard in the Dupont Circle area met these criteria. For those who know DC neighborhoods, the Courtyard is halfway between the Adams-Morgan and Dupont Circle neighborhoods so it's ideal for walking to area restaurants and shops. It's also about a half mile walk to the Dupont Circle Metro station. We walked all over this area late into the evening and always felt safe because these neighborhoods simply bustle with foot traffic. The hotel itself typical of Courtyards, clean, roomy, functional. While amenities existed, since we went to DC to tour the city sights and not for the hotel stay, we didn't use the amenities. The front desk area was minimally staffed, which should be fine for most business and independent travelers. Request a higher south-facing room and you'll get a view of the Washington Monument!

The hotel is located a few blocks north (up hill) from DuPont Circle, a major artery for the Metro, restaurants, bars and other shops. Taxis are easily accessible outside the hotel along Connecticut Ave. The room was small but the price was good for that part of the city. There was no shop in the hotel which was aggravating when the wife forgot her shampoo. A walk down to the metro will take no more than 5-10 mins, and via metro, the monuments, white house, and other site seeing attractions are less than 10 mins away. So, to recap - good location, good service, clean hotel.

The hotel is well located with easy access to the Mall and main attractions. Taxi service cost only $15 to get to the mall. The Metro (subway) is only a couple of blocks walking distance. The hotel service was very courteous and helpful. The lobby was very clean and comfortable. The room was above average. The only concern was the design of the entrance for cars. The driveway leading to the front door was difficult to access, and was only one lane wide. The narrow configuration was due to the location, but made for parking while checking in a time concern. The parking was by valet, $20 per day, plus an additional $20 if you stayed more than 3 hours past 3 pm.

The Courtyard was reasonably priced for a big city hotel. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. It was within walking distance from the Dupont Circle metro stop. There was a slight wait to get the car out of the parking lot.
