| A great location to explore the historic city of Charleston on foot. Walk to the water front park to see the sunrise, the Fort Sumter tour, great restaurants (We highly recommend Fleet Landing Restaurant) or to take a sail on the bay and much more! A great experience and perfect place to start and stay ...

| The inn is very convienient to everything of interest in Charleston. The parking was easy. We parked our car and didn't move it again until we were ready to leave. The inn staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. Breakfast in our room every morning was wonderful.

| Although we enjoyed Charleston as a tourist destination, the hotel was disappointing. It was built in the 1850's and although quaint, it does show it's age. The air conditioner is loud and our room, which was just over King Street, also gets the street noise. Actually the air conditioner helped drown that out, so somewhat a positive. If security is a big issue for you, the courtyard is open to the public during the day and the rooms are accessible from the courtyard. The outside courtyard door is closed at night (although we weren't sure when that happened) Although not a hotel problem, there is a street cleaner truck that comes by around 5AM. I think OSHA might have a problem with the noise level as it sounds like a jet plane landing in your room and it came by twice. This is a Mon-Fri occurance. We also had an issue with a drapery rod coming loose that could not be fixed on a Sunday as there were no maintenance people available. They did offer to move us, which we declined as we had settled into the room and hadn't heard the street cleaner/jet noise yet.

| First off, the location of this hotel is great. The market, retail stores and great restaurants are just a block or so away. We walked to everything we wanted to do. The hotel itself was very beautiful. It was clean and had amenities were nice also -- wine tasting each night at 5 pm and a complimentary newspaper each day on the doorstep. Some negatives: 1) The free wireless is only accessible in the lobby. This is due to the old building (thick walls). 2) The free parking is not really free. While it's true that you don't have to pay the usual fee each time you leave the lot, the hotel will charge you $10 per night for parking when you check out. 3) It was very noisy at night because of the interior courtyard. The first night, we had a very hard time sleeping because of the high-heels stomping around and we woke the next morning to glasses clanging in the breakfast area. A box fan at Wal-Mart solved that problem for future nights. The bottom line is that we liked this place enough to stay again. For what it lacks, it makes up for in character.

| Room was spacious for the 2 of us, yet cozy. The hotel layout is unique with an enclosed open-air courtyard unnoticed from the exterior. Location places the hotel in the middle of historical Charleston, within walking distance of most everything of interest in Old Charleston. We enjoyed the stay and are looking to return soon.

| We very much enjoyed our room and stay in Charleston. This was our first trip to the city and we will most definitely return. The hotel is in a great location to walk to almost anywhere in the historical section of Charleston. We took a 90 minute tour to get us oriented to the city which I would recommend. The room was more like a bedroom instead of your traditional "motel room" which gave it a feeling of home. Because of the time of year we could not appreciate the beauty of the outside as much as we would have liked, next time I would like to go in April.

| I was really pleased that the hotel was located close to the Market and my favorite restaurants. Just about everything was within walking distance. The parking was good. The accommodations were very nice and comfortable. Our room had a gas fire place, which was nice. It kept the three of us warm on cold evenings. The continental breakfast could have been better with more offerings and variety. Overall, we were very satisfied with the staff and their willingness to help.
