Features
What to expect: Many business travelers, lobbyists, and others with congressional business stay here, but it’s also convenient enough for sightseeing that families enjoy the hotel too. Because the two buildings were previously apartments, rooms are generously sized. Amenity highlights: The hotel is within four blocks of the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and Senate office buildings. Several restaurants are within two blocks, and museums and galleries along the National Mall are all within two miles. The friendly and helpful staff offers advice about dining and attractions. Insider tip: Three of Washington’s many vest-pocket parks--Folger Park, Garfield Park, and Seward Square--are located within four blocks of the hotel. The vast grounds of the Capitol are two blocks away.
A complimentary Continental breakfast is provided each morning. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are several dining options within the surrounding area. Nearby restaurants: Hawk n’ Dove Bullfeathers of Capitol Hill Capitol Lounge

| I was very impressed with the overall quality of this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful, the room--comfortable and clean, the breakfast--simple but satisfying. But the best thing about my stay there was the fact that I was so close to the heart of D.C., and practically across the street from the Library of Congress. I'd certainly stay there again if I have a chance in the future.

| Checked into the first room and AC was completely inoperative. In second room, toilet malfunctioned and AC could not get room temp below 80. Front desk did not answer phone calls. Front desk was unattended quite often. The continental breakfast selection was actually good, but the serving and dining spaces were crowded, stuffy, and shabby. All in all, a most unattractive and poorly maintained place of lodging given the rates charged.

| The best part of The Capitol Hill Suites was the location. When we arrived we were placed in a room with a distasteful view of a nasty alley. Not only did it view the alley, it needed painting as well as being dirty. We requested a room change. The next room had a hole in the ceiling and paint warping from the walls. The closet had a huge hole in the wall and the panel covering it was falling off. Believe it or not this room was better than the first. Our on command movies did not work in the new room. It took us calling for 3 days to finally get a new tv in the room so the kids could watch movies. Needless to say we did not see the part of the hotel that is represented on the internet. The only consolation was we were rarely at the hotel because there is so much to do in DC.

| Walking through a small closet to get to the bathroom doesn't make it a suite. The pocket doors between the primary room and the closet, and between the closet and the bathroom were both broken and could not be closed. It seemed reasonably safe and clean enough, I'd stay there again but not at the price I paid. The night staff was extremely friendly and helpful in finding food late at night.

| This was just a long weekend trip to introduce our teenagers to D.C. and this hotel was the best value in town. The location could not have been better -- very close to U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, etc and only one block away from Metro. Our room was very comfortable, with two large queen beds, plus a roll-away cot (also comfortable). Although the hotel is old and needs a facelift, the price was right for us. The staff was courteous, the continental breakfast was okay, but convenient. Parking is tricky, unless you pay $28/day in their back lot, but street parking is free on weekends. Overall, we definitely would give this hotel a thumbs-up.

| When I arrived, they checked me into a room that was already occupied! Good thing the guest wasn't there! They then moved me to a smoking room although I had requested non-smoking. As compensation, they waived my internet access charge ($9.99). It's too bad as I liked the location and it was within walking distance of several nice, affordable restaurants.

| This hotel was not even close to being as nice as the pics on expedia. The couch was broken, bugs in the bathroom. My car was left in front of the hotel on a busy street for an hour before the valet moved it. Its located in a quiet residential section of DC, nice and quiet. Luckily I spent the majority of my time outside the hotel. I will spend the extra $$ and stay somewhere nicer next time I'm in DC.
