Features
What to expect: This 17-story historic hotel is decorated in original 19th-century art and antiques, glass chandeliers, and wood-burning fireplaces. Windows offer panoramic views of the Public Garden, Newbury Street designer shops, and Commonwealth Avenue mansions. Since 1927, it has attracted a sophisticated clientele, including celebrities, royalty, business travelers with children, and theatergoers.
Amenity highlights: Service in many forms makes the Ritz-Carlton a luxurious icon. The focus is on the guest, from complimentary overnight shoeshine service to 24-hour in-room dining to a Bath Butler who draws custom baths upon request. The hotel offers a 3,000-square-foot fitness center with separate aerobic and weight rooms and complimentary use of a 100,000-square-foot health club 2 blocks from the hotel. Complimentary car service to the Financial District is offered.
Insider tip: In E.B White’s children’s novel The Trumpet of the Swan, Louis the swan stayed at this Ritz-Carlton while in Boston. The hotel can arrange activities and services for young guests based on this theme, including afternoon tea, children’s menus, and picnic baskets to take to the swan boats in the Public Garden between mid-April and mid-September.
The Dining Room - Considered one of Boston’s most stately restaurants since 1927, and popular with the pre-theater crowd. Room décor is French Provincial in soft blues and yellows that compliment the changing seasons in the Public Garden viewed from the windows. Tables are formally set with cobalt-blue glassware inspired by the room’s Czechoslovakian glass chandeliers. Open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, and a Sunday buffet brunch. Reservations required; collared shirts and slacks required for men; jackets are recommended. The Café - A wall of windows with panoramic views of Newbury Street creates a lively backdrop for power breakfasts, animated lunches, and pre- or post-theater dining on such traditional American favorites as chicken pot pie, lobster salad, and clam chowder. Open daily for breakfast and lunch; dinner Sunday through Thursday. Collared shirts and slacks required for men during the day; jackets suggested for evenings. The Bar - This well-known spot for cocktails opened in the 1930s to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition. Upholstered chairs around intimate tables. Fireplace, views of the Public Garden, club-like atmosphere, dark-wood paneling. Monday through Saturday, guests come for the famous martinis, samplings of Scotch, and signature Ritz Fizz. Light dining also available. The Lounge - The hotel’s spacious drawing room, with windows overlooking Newbury Street, is an ideal setting for afternoon tea, glass of port, and champagne. Tea offered Wednesday and Thursday during two seatings, with music by a harpist. Special teas for children are offered throughout the year, including a Nutcracker Tea and a Teddy Bear Tea. Reservations are required.

| Extensive renovations have not dimmed the charm of the Ritz-Carlton, the best hotel in Boston. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere festive and convivial. In spite of its size, the hotel has an intimate quality. We had a perfect stay.

| The Ritz Carlton - Boston - is exactly what you would expect from the Ritz. The hotel is in excellent condition, the staff is polite & knowledgeable and so efficient they are unnoticeable. The room was extremely comfortable and very quiet. I have stayed at numerous Ritz hotels in various locations and they all have the elegance and high standards one has come to expect from Ritz Carlton hotels. All in all the Ritz's reputation precedes them.

| My wife and I stayed at the Ritz Carlton on Arlington Street over the Memorial Day weekend. The service was excellent and the location can't be beat. The hotel overlooks the Public Gardens, shopping, dining and all the attractions of Boston are within walking distance or a short cab ride. The Ritz lives up to it's name.

| Great location. Wonderful, proactive service. Excellent rooms and food. We've stayed at most of the best hotels in Boston over the years, and this is our favorite. If the rest of the world worked like Ritz Carlton, it would be called heaven.

| If you want personal and warm service in the heart of Boston's best shopping district, I would recommend the Ritz-Carlton Boston on Arlington St. The staff was very attentive. They know your name the moment you walk in. The in room dining menu has superb food. The hotel is traditionally decorated as compared to the newer more contemporary sister hotel in Boston Commons. The bathrooms are a bit old but serves its purpose. The Bar in the lobby is quaint-far from the maddening crowd (if you've been attending a conference or meeting)

They received so much personal attention my Parents were overwhelmed by how nice, considerate and helpful the staff was. They recieved lots of little extras too!!! The Ritz has a reputation for service and excellence but they really went the extra mile. Thank you Ritz Carlton, Boston!!!!
