Features
What to expect: The hotel is reminiscent of a mountainside train station, complete with Western architecture, wood fixtures, and elaborate decorative lighting. Frequent Las Vegas visitors appreciate the hotel's casual ambience. The large casino is popular with locals, who prefer the location to the casinos on The Strip, due to its looser slots and larger payoffs. Amenity highlights: The Boulder Station casino has 3,000 slot and video poker machines, live bingo and keno, and a sports book with 18 large-screen TVs showing races and sports events. For non-gaming entertainment, guests head to the 11-screen movie theater or the Railhead events center, where music, boxing, and performances are presented. An on-site childcare facility offers supervised activities. Insider tip: The hotel offers a commission-free paycheck-cashing service that includes a spin of a prize wheel and a chance to win free drinks, complimentary hotel stays, and cash.

| Stayed a week and was quite satisfied. The room was very quiet for a hotel - I was impressed. Easy to get sleep. I was on the 7th floor with a view of the strip in the distance. Security was excellent - guards checked for key cards at elevator and bicycle guards were always visible in parking lot. Lots of food choices close by adjacent to casino. They really should put in coffee makers and fridges as many folks there were business class like myself.

| This was one of our best trips to vegas in a long time. Rooms were very clean and staff was very nice. We would chose this over a strip hotel on our next trip. Very nice.

| Good sized casino, and rates were very good. When I first signed in, I was told there would be an extra $4.95 a night "service fee" (for phone use, etc.). Not a huge amount, but I was still surprised to see it. I looked back at the Expedia confirmation, and it does allow for this. I had a smoking room, and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't smell like smoke at all. The heater/air conditioner was very modern, with a digital temperature control. And it worked... someone had set the temp to 90 degrees, and it was pumping out the heat (outside temp around 40). The whole heater turned off when temperature reached, so I wasn't stuck with fan noise all night. When I went, all the rooms were booked, but the casino didn't seem packed - there were always plenty of empty slot machines to play. All denominations for slots. Penny slots, nickels, quarters, dollars. Wide variety of game machines - slots, poker, keno, blackjack. They also had a variety of card games and roulette. Quite a few restaurants, I think one is open 24/7. Burger King open until 2am or 3am. This casino is pretty far from the strip. If all you're looking for is gambling, then this place will probably be good enough for you. If you want to do the strip, you'd need some transportation to do it.

| Casino was smoky but rooms were great. This had been recommended as good for those with families but walking through the casino and registration area was killing us with the smoke. Never got into the kids area as it did not work with our schedule. Room was awsome and I did not smell any smoke there and the buffet was good as well for breakfast. Security checks keys before you can get in to elevator area. Felt safe. Really only issue was smoke in the lobby and casino area. They need more smoke eaters.

| Boulder Station is a happy medium between the strip mega-resorts and some of the older places on Fremont street. I didn't find the gambling any looser, but the rooms were nice for the money. They were comparable to, if not a little nicer (bigger, better bed, granite & tile in bathroom) than most of the standard rooms on the strip. My biggest complaint was no shuttle to the strip or other station casinos and they could use an improved air filtration system. Very smokey. Oh, and it had a very nice 11 theater movie theater!

| IF you went downstairs at all, you would be barraged with the smell of smoke. And forget wearing the same shirt at all. That was the only problem I had with the Hotel

| Nice hotel easy to reach very near the highway gate that permit to move around Las Vegas without crossing traffic of city. Room is very large and clean. Unfortunately they don't offer free internet service. This is the only bad thing for a business traveler.

| I requested a non smoking room but could not get one. The place smelled terrible even after they sprayed it and we left the windows open for six hours. The ceiling was yellow with smoke and it would drip off the ceiling when you would take a shower. The air in the casino and resturant was also smoky, very poor ventilation.
