| The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was perfect. Literally right around the corner from Chinatown and close to everything. When I go back next year, I will be staying there again.

| The hotel room was basic and without frills, but clean and comfortable. Chinatown is literally just below the hotel: our room on the fifth floor overlooked the gateway into Chinatown and several bustling shops. North Beach and downtown are within comfortable walking distance. A large parking garage is conveniently located across the street, as is a selection of coffee shops. This is a perfect place to save money on lodgings and spend it instead on a fun night out in the City.

| Good location - that's it. No working elevator. The towels were always stained or discolored (it could just be the water). They were also too small and never enough. Asked for more and didn't see them. Everything was very, very worn. Carpets, furniture, etc. Uncomfortable bed. If you are over 5 feet tall, you have to get on your knees to wash your hair and face in the shower as the shower head comes out of the wall at only about 5 1/2 feet. It was a very cheap stay and I still feel like I paid too much. Don't be cheap, stay somewhere nice.

| The hotel is located right next to the ChinaTown Gate. We had all our meals in ChinaTown, 3 people, 6 days, spent under $200 and we ate till we were stuffed at every meal.As for getting around town on the buses and such: both cabel car lines are within 3 blocks of hotel. Main bus and BART lines within 4 blocks. If you really need a car, parking will be expensive unless you park far from the hotel. We had no trouble getting all over on public transportation. Flew into Oakland, a shuttle bus and Bart to downtown S F and a 4 block walk to hotel for $5.15 a person.
