Features
What to expect: Although it's not on The Strip, the hotel doesn't lack for action and excitement. With 711 rooms, a large casino, and several restaurants, it is a destination unto itself, with some guests not leaving the property during their entire stay. It is popular with families and those who have visited Vegas before and want entertainment and gambling close at hand. And for those who want to venture out, the hotel offers a shuttle service to and from The Strip.

Amenity highlights: The hotel has a large casino with more than 2,100 slots and video poker machines, a complimentary slot club, and nine restaurants. Also on-site is an 800-seat live bingo hall, which has twice-yearly $100,000 bingo tournaments. In the northwest corner of the casino an eight-table, nonsmoking poker room is available. In addition, there is nightly live entertainment and a 70-lane bowling alley with video arcade. For a change of pace, the hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness center.

Insider tip: Guests can take a complimentary shuttle bus to Gold Coast's companion property, The Orleans, which has a 16-screen movie theater, or to the Barbary Coast, in the center of The Strip and 1 block away from the Bellagio water show.

Arriva - Italian restaurant located in the northwest corner of the casino; open for dinner only. Features a dining room with marble and carpeted flooring, Italian artwork, and an extensive wine selection. Open Wednesday through Sunday evenings.

Cortez Room - The Cortez Room serves generous portions of prime rib, steak, and seafood. An informal and comfortable atmosphere with dark leather booths and subdued lighting contributes to the dining experience. Open for dinner only.

Ping Pang Pong Chinese Kitchen - Chefs prepare specialty dishes from various provinces of China, in addition to other popular dishes, including dim sum. Decor includes marble floors da Buddha at the entrance. Open for dinner only.

The casino also features an eight-table, nonsmoking poker room and multiple plasma-screen TVs.

The casino features Blackjack ("21"), craps, roulette, Baccarat, Pai Gow poker, a keno lounge, and more than 2,400 slots, video poker, and video poker machines.

I was impressed with the Gold Coast. It is very clean, and the staff is knowledgable and courteous. My room was clean and comfortable. Even though off of the strip, the hotel has a shuttle to the strip, and is conveniently located close to other major hotels. The Gold Coast is a very good value and I will definately stay there again.

We loved staying at the Gold Coast. The Buffet was good and the coupon books we got at check in were awesome (free drinks and a free bottle of wine at the buffet). I enjoyed the daily hold-'em tournement, it was only $22 to enter. The live daily entertainment was good and they had the machines that we like. The drawback was that the hallways were so long. We timed it, it took almost two minutes to reach the elevator. Over all I would highly recommend this hotel to people interested more in having fun than setting an image.

I always stay off the strip when I go to Vegas and this hotel offers as much or more than any I've stayed at. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The location is very convenient without being in the center of things. I will stay at the Gold Coast again and again.

I've stayed at the Gold Coast several times and appreciate not having to traipse through the casino to check in and go to my room. The atmosphere is nice. Great off-the-strip location.

The Gold Coast was a mediocre hotel, at best. Overall, it was very clean and did offer all the amentities(food, gaming, etc), but not exactly what we were expecting. The bathroom was beyond too small and the set up for closet space and storage was totally unworkable. We've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, and for what we paid, we should have received much better accommodations. I will consider my choices on Expedia in the future based on this experience more carefully.
