Features
Due to preparation for the upcoming 2010 Olympics, construction on the Sea-to Sky highway has commenced. Guests are advised to review the construction schedule after booking a hotel in the Whistler area. The construction schedule can be found on the following Web site: http://www.gtmconsulting.com/info/project_updates/travelling-sts.htm
What to expect: The Westin’s chic natural elements capture the spirit of Whistler and the Northwest, but this resort is far from rustic. From the dramatic views of tree-covered peaks seen through the windows of the luxurious spa, to the vaulted ceilings and river-rock accents of the expansive lobby, the shopping arcade, and restaurant areas, the Westin is a year-round retreat for those who want to be pampered. Mountain enthusiasts of all kinds catch the gondolas from the resort’s handy slopeside location, and in summer, golfers practice at the driving range just across the street. Amenity Highlights: Soaker tubs, fireplaces, and well-equipped pine kitchens make the resort’s 419 suites difficult to leave. In-suite dining is available 24 hours a day from the Aubergine Grille; for a chic après-ski atmosphere, try the FireRock Lounge. Condé Nast considers the Avello Spa and Health Club to be one of the most comprehensive in Canada, with its indoor/outdoor pool, dual whirlpools, Eucalyptus steam room, and extensive fitness area. Wellness classes are available. Storage is provided for bicycles and golf clubs. In addition, a shopping arcade of various boutique and sports equipment stores (such as Helly Hansen) extends off the lobby for last-minute necessities or the perfect souvenir. Insider Tip: Whether guests use the front or back entrance to the Westin, the resort’s central village location means that the lifts, shops, clubs, and restaurants of this compact metropolis are within a few blocks. The ski-in/ski-out Westin Resort and Spa provides a luxury resort experience with easy proximity to the slopes.
Aubergine Grill - A show-kitchen restaurant where guests can watch culinary masters prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Aubergine serves everything from West Coast seafood and salmon favorites to grilled meats and rustic pizza and pasta entrees. Firerock Lounge - This lounge provides an intimate setting offering drinks and cocktails.

| We were pleased with the ease of checking in our ski gear every day and were impressed with how friwndly everyone was. The only downfall for our kids was no DVD players in the room.

| The hotel, especially the concierge, was just wonderful. We were traveling with our baby and having the kitchenette was a great help. The nanny service arranged through the concierge was better than we could have hoped for! The Avello Spa, however, was pretty pricey and not all that great.

| Wonderful beds, which is always a concern because of back problems. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Thought the parking should have been included in the cost of the stay since it is in a remote location, not a metropolitan area. Wish they would have accommodated us with a mountain side room since we were staying there a full week. Need more detailed instructions on the use of gas fireplace and A/C-heat.

| We enjoyed our stay! The hotel was very clean and the rooms actually looked like the pictures on their website. The bedding and linens were top quality and clean. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow, but the food was very tasty. The concierge service was fabulous and everyone was very nice. The Avello Spa was great as well. Very clean and quiet. The steam rooms, pool and spa were all very clean and well kept.
