Carpet was dirty and has a slight odor smell--must have been occupied by a pet owner since pets are allowed. Swimmimg pool lights were very dim and no ventilation so it was very stuffy. Check-in time was restricted to start at 4:00 PM and was told to come back when we arrived at 2:30 PM. At check-out time, clerk would not even give receipt. Hotel restaurant food was bland and better to just go out to another restaurant.

We stayed in the Clarion based on the 2.5 star rating on Expedia, and we very disappointed in the facility overall. The carpets were filthy, in the public areas and in the rooms. We wore socks or shoes unless we were in bed or the shower. Housekeeping knocked on the door by 8:30 every morning except the one day that our room wasn't cleaned at all. Our door jam had tool marks beside the door knob outside as if someone had tried to break in, and someone kept leaving an outside door to the stairwell propped open witha towel, therefore eleminating the security of the entry doors requiring keys to open. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, it is priced like a 2.5 star and maintained at best a 1 star.

Good experience if you don't mind staying just outside Colonial Williamsburg

The room was very adequate and comfortable with amenities such as a refrigerator and microwave. the bathroom was large with granite tiles and a framed morror instead of the usual fare. the only downside was the lack of view in this room. It faced a brick wall. but since not too much time was spent in the room, it made little difference. You certainly can save by staying just outside the official "colonial Williamsburg", and it is still close and convenient. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

The Hotel would be a very nice place if it were maintained a little better ihe pool needs to be cleaned above the water line, the jacusi makes a terrible noise, the bathroom door lock was broken, and the in room safe was locked and they didn't get it open during our trip so we could use it. also the internet was expensive to use ,so we didn't. The employees were frendly and a credit to the hotel

The hotel needs consistent maintenance; carpets are dirty and banquet rooms are not well kept either. There are holes in walls. It has no air conditioning in the corridors, but the rooms are well air-controlled, have comfortable beds, are clean, and have mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blow dryer, and iron. There is no place to hang clothes, except on the back of the bathroom door. The electronic keys malfunctioned daily and had to be reset, necessitating a trip back to the lobby each time. The indoor pool is not well maintained and has only a single source of light in the evening that is insufficient. The restaurant fare is passable. It is sufficient for the location in relation to activities and for the amenities provided for the price.
