Features
What to expect: From the waterfall flowing over rough-hewn granite blocks in the lobby to its indoor lap pool, the Fairmont Airport Vancouver is an oasis of calm amid the hustle and bustle of a major airport. Business travelers find the convenience of the airport location matched only by the top-notch service standards. Vacationers appreciate the spacious view rooms and many recreational amenities.

Amenity highlights: Guests have access to a well-equipped fitness center overlooking the bustling interior of the airport. The jetted indoor lap pool complements a children's wading pool, saunas, and a spa. An in-house day spa offers a variety of pampering services. The business center features two computer workstations with high-speed Internet access (fee), and wireless Internet access is available in the lobby, lounge, and restaurant (fee).

Insider tip: East meets West at Aberdeen Centre, an Asian-themed shopping mall and visitor attraction located less than 4 miles from the hotel in the city of Richmond. This vast, six-acre complex is home to more than 280 shops, restaurants, and specialty stores catering to greater Vancouver's large Asian community.

Globe@YVR - Three meals a day, including buffet breakfast and lunch, are served in this fine-dining restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the airport runway and mountains. The open kitchen serves West Coast cuisine with an Asian flair; its specialty is seafood, and the Thai banana curry soup is locally famous. Finger food includes both pizza and sushi. The gas fireplace and live plants enhance the intimacy, and window tables come with binoculars.

Jetside Bar - Offering lunch, dinner, and evening snacks every day, this lobby lounge features live piano entertainment nightly. Guests can relax in overstuffed chairs and view airport activities through floor-to-ceiling windows. There's a wide selection of port wines.

I keep coming back to the Fairmont Vancouver Airport. It is in the airport so it is easy to get to and from. It has a great restaurant. The staff is friendly & personable. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Ground transportation and parking are readily available. (Note: Vancouver traffic can be slow and frustrating during peak hours.) Did I say quiet? People I travel with are amazed at how quiet this hotel is. After 6:00 PM, the air traffic slows to almost nothing. Even when a plane goes by, it is over the runway and not the hotel. The hotel was built custom to deflect aircraft noise but it also effectively blocks noise from other rooms and from the hallway. I am sensitive to noise and I feel this is one of the quietest hotels I have stayed in during my many travels.

I would highly recommend the Fairmont. The rooms were very nicely appointed, comfortable and extremly quiet. Loved the large marble bathroom with extra large tub and seperate shower plus the down comforter on the king size bed.The staff were very helpful but unobtrusive and the unique views watching the planes arrive and depart from your bedroom window will stay with me forever. Loved my stay and hope to visit again!

the convience of staying right next to the airport was a plus. the huge bathtub and shower rocked! after a long day of sightseeing and on my feet, it was nice to relax in the tub. the staff was wonderful and helpful. they'll even call to make tour bus reserv for you. didn't even need to rent a car. just call land and sea for great sightseeing tours. the only neg was the airport food. don't eat there. recom eat the hotel food even tho expensive or eat a big lunch b4 you come back to your hotel.

We go skiing at Whistler several times a year. It has become a tradition to stay at the Fairmont at the end of the trip. The rooms are fabulous, and the convenience of being in the airport can't be beat!

I travel for work and just happened on this hotel for a last minute trip. I can't say enough about the service and people here. The rooms are beautiful and big and the views great. I didn't even have to go outside once I arrived the entrance is directly in the terminal along with all the restaurants and even a 7-11. The rooms are soundproof so unless you open your curtains you would never know you are almost on the runway. If you need to go into Vancouver there is always a cab or shuttle to be had. Will definately put this on my must stay at list.

Being able to quickly go from customs to check-in at the hotel in 5 minutes or less is a bonus after a long journey to British Columbia. Elevators or escalators wisk you up to check-in in no time at all.
