| My wife and I went for a very short visit (4 nites) BCH was probably our best choice. It is a "business hotel" but there were many young people, singles, newlyweds, groups and airline employees. Beach is small but large enough for the hotel. Plenty of chairs and towels. Usually a float is available to use. The cruise ships come in there but we liked watching them. We spent every afternoon in the water. Water taxis run to Paridise Island (Atlantis) from about noon til 6pm ($3 ea.way) Great way to spend time. Horse/buggy ride was good, don't pay more than $10+tip. Bus #10 leaves from McDonald's (accross st) all the time. It's safe/ok/cheap way to sight-see. I'm not a fan of the straw market but wife bought 3 handbags and the market is next door to hotel. --Senior Frog is a mex rest next door- rowdy but great food. Chez Willie is close and great for dinner but $$$$. If you have kids, stay at Atlantis, forget Nassau. If your looking for a casino, go to Atlantis or Cable Beach.

| This has been my third stay at the British Colonial. I began staying there with my children and husband in the early 1980s. The hotel is centrally located in the heard of downtown Nassau. Because everything is in walking distance, guests can get around on their own without having to arrange for special transportation. Getting to Paradise Island is also a breeze as you can walk over the bridge that connects the two islands or take one of several small boats that only take 8 minutes from island to island. The hotel lobby is beautiful with its very high, painted ceilings and rich color. The very grand staircase looks impressive from the grand entrance. The hotel staff are very friendly and what I loved most of all was the band that entertained the guests at the beach and pool area every day. In addition, the hotel lounge has a band that plays four nights a week. The beach is cleaned early every morning by the staff so that one can set out as early as 7:00 am on the beach and stay there the whole day just enjoying the atmosphere, the breeze and the cruise ships that come and go. I plan to go back there soon.

| Located in the heart of downtown Nassau, this hotel is the only one with its own private beach and pool in the back. It is walking distance to all shops, the boardwalk, restaurants, and night life. The staff were helpful and pleasant and the hotel/room was very clean. Overall, it was a delightful stay.

| Just returned from 5 day vacation in Nassau and stayed at B.C. Hilton. Yes, the room was a little on the small side, but it was kept clean by staff and had a very nice bathroom. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Remember, B.C. Hilton caters to mostly business travelers, so it may not have all the amenities that resorts have. They have a nice workout room and pool as well as a small private beach. All in all, my stay was very enjoyable and I would definitely stay here again.

| This hotel has a great location for shopping in downtown Nassau. I attempted to check-in several times before the 3 p.m. check-in time that day and the first time was told that none of the rooms were ready, the next two times I was told that the computer system was down and so they didn't know if any rooms were ready for check-in. The room was small but well appointed. Nice beach and beachside cafe and bar with live music during the day.

| British Colonial Hilton once was a fashionable hotel- one of the permier hotels in Nassau. I have been staying there during the last three years quite often and had to find out that it has been deteriorating constantly during the last two years. The furniture in the main reception hall is dirty and disgusting now, the reception desk is slowly working, the staff at the bar seems not interested in making business, the beach service is lousy, there is a constant diesel smell from the cruiseliner vessels boarding not far away- all in all one has the feeling to be somewhere in Africa where people are suffering from heat and various sicknesses and thus cannot perform guest- friendly. Sorry for Hilton, sorry for its guests ! There are now much better hotels elsewhere along Cable Beach.
