| I chose to stay at the Rose Garden Inn due to its convenience and accessibility. This was my last stop after a tiresome business road trip that involved many cities. I was very frustrated when I arrived and due to my temperment could have had an unpleasant experience, but that did not happen. Tricia, the group sales coordinator, was working the desk that evening and took very good care of me. The room was spacious, with beatiful woodwork, and a classy touch yet all of the modern amenities. I decided not to go out for dinner, which is what I usually do, but instead walked 1 and 1/2 blocks to the grocery store, got something to heat up for dinner and a nice bottle of wine and relaxed in the nice atmosphere of this hotel. The full breakfast in the morning was great and the outside seating with the beautiful gardens surrounding the Rose Garden Inn was very relaxing. I will stay here again whether it be on business or personnal.

| The staff at the hotel were wonderful - among the best I've encountered throughout the world, and the small place made it seem very personal and homelike. Great full American breakfast every day. Warm cookies at tea time. It's a bit off the beaten path; about a mile and a half from downtown, but walkable in 20-30 min on a nice day. The room was very small compared to what you'd get for comparable rates at a standard hotel. There was no internet access, and the only unoccupied power outlet in the room was in the bathroom (balancing a laptop and mobile phone on the tub rim to charge was a bit awkward). Overall, I really liked it, and the terrific staff more than made up for the lack of modern amenities.

| The rooms range from smallish on upper floors to suites with fireplaces and garden views. The proprietors were friendly and helpful, and the massive, free breakfast every morning was great. Nice atmosphere and a lovely garden. I'd definitely recommend it. Make sure you don't get in too late so you can grab one of the limited parking spots.

| For starters, I did not expect this place to have a real rose garden (they do and it smells wonderful). The service is prompt and polite. The front desk is quite helpful. Breakfast is a real spread! And the ambience is terrific. You can walk to UC Berkeley and there are plenty of restarants very close by. More importantly (in Berkeley) there's parking. I loved this place and the ambience. Everything is clean. Of course the place is old, but the condition is great.

| Beautiful old home converted to a B&B. Rose garden surrounds the entire building. Lots of beautiful flowers, shrubs and hummingbirds. Could not believe what a nice spread they put out for guest breakfasts. Wonderful. Also located right next to Campus at Berkeley and the hot spots downtown. A real value.
