| Everything from excellent room service, unbelieveable buffet breakfasts over 50 different asian american items and cook to order eggs. The gym was on the roof, pool was refreshing, we had in room messages, and luxurious baths in your room, trainers available too. The utterly amazing thing the staff did for us is I mentioned to the bellman if he knew how to get our overnight 1st class train tickets all in the same compartment on the train. My husband had bought the 4 tickets in Beijing and the births were all in different compartments. No one speaks English on the trains you communicate with numbers and preprinted Chinese cards. The bellman spent 2 days on this task for us , and amazingly did this by finding the man in charge of this specific train and paying him a "fee" (You can see the many hangons from the Communist goverment still here)The bellman traded in our old tickets for the new tickets all together in one berth. He would only take the # for his taxi to the train station and the fee for the service. I doubt if we ever find another hotel that cares that much, for no compensation. The Chinese restaurant in the hotel is fantasic, and the rooms reminded me of the ones inthe movie North by Northwest with Gary Grant. If in China or if in Beijing take the overnight train to Harbin and go to the Shangri-La.There is this fasinating white Siberian Tiger Park, a little like a Jurrasic Park tour without the glitz),but the 70 tigers are beautiful and friendly.
