Features

What to expect: Just off the bustling Ku'damm shopping strip, green marble, towering flower arrangements, solid dark-wood columns and red-cloth sofas make the Bristol's softly lit lobby a quiet contrast to the fast-paced Berlin streets. Leisure and business travelers mingle with long-time Berlin residents on their way to the Kempinski Grill.

Amenity highlights: Mosaics and fountains give the Bristol's indoor pool the ambience of a Roman Empire bath. The hotel's shopping gallery features fashion by Lagerfeld, shoes by Charles Jourdan, and jewelry by Markus Schwarz. The Kempinski Grill is a time-honored dinner spot for Berlin residents who enjoy traditional fine dining.

Insider tip: One of Berlin's oldest producers of traditional German fine porcelain, KPM Porcelain, has an outlet in the Bristol's shopping gallery. From dinner sets to porcelain bears, the symbol of Berlin, KPM provides guests with unique souvenirs of their stay.

Kempinski Grill - Traditional fine-dining dinners and weekend lunches are served in this refined, 30-seat restaurant, decorated in deep blues and dusty pinks. A popular outing for long-time Berlin residents, Kempinski Grill is renowned for its wine cellar. An open kitchen allows guests to watch chefs prepare signature dishes such as Veal Strudel with Caramelized Chicory.

Kempinski Eck - Lunch and dinner are served at red-leather banquettes and linen-clad tables beneath Art Deco light fittings. This relaxed eatery has an international menu which features Berlin specialties. Windows facing the Kurfürstendamm shopping street provide excellent people-watching opportunities.

Winter Garden - Open for breakfast, the Winter Garden's buffet is known for serving 'everything'; particularly renowned is the traditional German Bircher muesli. Guests dine in the glassed-in conservatory on wicker chairs or indoor under Art Deco light fittings.

Goeblin Halle - Continental breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at sofas in this wood-paneled lounge. In the evenings an open fire is lit and the bar serves drinks and bar snacks.

Bristol Bar - Every evening a piano player accompanies guests who take advantage of the Bristol Bar's parquet dance floor. A curved redwood bar serves drinks beneath colored-glass chandeliers while guests lounge in blue leather armchairs at inlaid coffee tables.

This hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. Staff was helpful. Lobby smelled wonderful because of fresh flowers. Rooms weren't big, but the bed was very comfortable. Located right on the KuDamm. We had a great stay!

I do not recommend this hotel for a stay in Berlin during the summer. There is not a thermostat in the individual rooms, therefore you are at the descretion of the hotel for the temperature of the room. I was sweating just standing in my room! The bedding was horrible. the pillows were paper thin and they give you 2 seperate twin size comforters to cover the double bed. Parking is also very expensive at the hotel.

While I enjoyed this, my second week-long my stay at the "Kempi," I noticed that the guest rooms do not have a fire sprinkler system. Given this, I'll stay elsewhere next time I'm in Berlin.

The Kempinski Hotel Bristol Berlin was a nice place to stay. When you are comparing this hotel to others in the area keep in mind you will pay (actually grossly overpay) for items purchased directly in the hotel (ie. drinks / appetizers). Breakfast was not included in our nightly rate and drinks in the bar add up extremely quickly (approx. $15+ US dollars per drink).

An absolutely wonderful place to stay. Pure luxury, staff was most gracious and helpful, rooms were extremely comfortable, fabulous pool, sauna, steam bath. Breakfast was superb not only very tasting but presentation, selection was fabulous. Lobby was beautiful. High tea was avvailable in the lobby restaurant/bar as well as light fare and cocktails. There was also a more intimate bar that was inviting. Location perfect for getting around, walking distance to main train station for connections to other European locations. In a word...PERFECT!
