| The overvall room was nice and if you like old charm this would be the room for you, but if you want quite and comfort look elsewhere. The bed was very stiff and we could hear a baby crying 4 doors down. I woke up the next morning to hear every shower near our room going. It sounded as if they were right in our hotel room. On the positive though it was within a short walking distance of most of the downtown Victoria attractions.

| The hotel is OK, but not a particularly interesting place to stay. The rooms seemed more motel than hotel, and most look out at other hotels. The staff was competent, but not a source of information about the downtown area when we asked for restaurant & sight recommendations.

| We really liked the fact that this hotel was right across the street from the ferry terminal, especially since we were on the 6am ferry. It was within walkin distance of downtown. The one thing they could improve on was the sitting room in our room. The furniture was worn and not that comfortable. We would stay here again if in the area.

| The hotel is located right next to the gatsby mansion and is on a very green lot with attractive gardens and close proximity to many of the fun things to do in victoria. However, the age of the hotel shows in the lack of air conditioning and the fact that the walls appear to be paper thin. A neighboring hotel was quite loud and kept us up all night with their workers playing loudly about the streets on their breaks. I would recommend this hotel, especially on a budget, but highly recommend that you bring some earplugs along for the ride. And if it is a really hot time of year, you may want to reconsider, though most nights the room will cool off nicely with the windows open.

| This hotel is located in a great spot. It's across the street from the ferry terminals and just 2 blocks from parliment and the heart of Victoria. It has alot of character and actually has a "victorian" feel. The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. Service was excellent. My only complaint is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. This probably isn't often a problem since it's not normally very hot there, but when I stayed at the hotel it was 80 degrees and the room was nearly unbearable during the day and stuffy at night. Overall I would definetely recommend the hotel.

| This was not the swankiest hotel in Victoria- the linens were getting a little threadbare and the room could use some updating. However, the room was clean and comfortable, the employees were extremely polite, gracious, and helpful, and the location (just a block or two from the Parliament building and just across from the harbor) was really fantastic. I would stay there again.

| First the hotel could not find my Expedia Reservation. Secondly, there were huge fans in all the hallways that ran 24 hours a day and the hotel staff never explained why they were there or appologized for the constant trip hazard that they represented. I would not stay at this hotel again.
