| Found it on internet and would go back. Great food, service, and large rooms overlooking San Hosea. Out of main area of San Hosea and a $20 cab ride to airport but the place to relax by the pool.

| The Alta is a beautiful place to stay. Our room had a great view of the sunset and the valley below. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. It felt very open with the large balcony, yet still private because you couldn't easily see the other balconies. (And we felt the robes were fine!) The restaurant was a little pricey but had excellent food. And for those of you who can't live without it there is free internet access in the lobby! And the friendly staff makes setting up tours or arranging transportation very easy. Just a piece of advice - the hotel is in the suburbs, high up on a hill. While this provides amazing views you can't really walk anywhere, so you need to rely on taxis or tour buses to get around. It is such a great place that you won't mind being stranded there!

| First trip to Costa Rica and what a place to stay. The hotel travel agent was exceptional and booked a weeks worth of activities in a matter of minutes. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Restaurant was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

| My wife and I have had the opportunity to stay in many 5 star hotels in Costa Rica in the past few months. The Alta, without a doubt is the best of the best. If there was a higher rating than 5, the Alta would have it. The hotel was magnificent, food was excellent and almost too pretty to eat, and the staff could not have been more accomodating. Everyone involved with the operation of the Alta must have been hand-picked. We came to Costa Rica this time to relax and could not have chosen a better place. With the exception of one visit to La Paz,(arranged by a special staff member), we spent the entire week at the hotel enjoying the spectacular view from our terrace in room 20. Even the rainstorms were breathtaking. We were planning our next visit to the Alta before we checked out. A special thank you to all of the staff. You are the greatest.

| This was our thrid trip to Costa Rica. We have stayed in the city, Jaco Beach, and this time in the mountains. The service was superb. The resturant was = to a 5 star. The presetation alone looked like it came out of a magazine. The view from our room #11 was spectacular. We sat and watched the birds flying up to us. The cool breezes were mezmerizing. What a tranquil place! Don't plan on wearing the bathrobes that are provided unless you are about 5 feet tall and weigh about 100 lbs. We tried them on and laughed until we almost cried. What a fashion show! Every hotel staff person we encountered was friendly, gracious, and went out of their way for us. The Costa Rican people have the Aloha' spirit. We are looking forward to our next trip to Costa Rica and its warm wonderful, welcoming people.
