| I stayed at the Hotel Durant for one night during an apartment hunting trip to Berkeley. The location was great (just a couple blocks from campus) and the staff was unbelievably helpful. I had flown in from overseas just a couple of days earlier and was horribly jetlagged, so they let me check into my room a few hours early. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant downstairs was convenient for a relatively early breakfast. Overall, only good things to report - I recommend!

| They say they have parking but only 44 spots and something like 165 rooms, so you have to park down the street which is a pain. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. I'll go back next time I want to stay near the Greek Theater.

| The hotel was fine, but parking was a mess: first, they didn't disclose the fact that parking cost extra ($12/day). Next, the lot is small and cars get parked in, so you have to wait for the valet to move cars around. Valets are sometimes hard to find.

| This was a pretty good hotel. My only issue was that it was a little noisy. I felt like I was sleeping on top of a night club. And the front desk staff was not super friendly. But it is a decent deal for Berkeley and convenient to campus. It is a 15 minute walk, up hill, from the Downtown Berkeley BART.

| I was very impressed with this 2 1/2 star hotel. It ranks definetively above that in my personal ratings! The only down side was I had a room on the second floor and there's a bar downstairs that plays music until at least 11pm. People on the 6th floor did not have this problem, though. Overall, great experience.

| Everything was pretty good. We were in Berkeley, which was our major requirement. Very clean. Built in 1928 (I think) so has some character. Good view from the 6th floor. The hotel restaurant had a nice breakfast. Had to pay for parking, though, and could hear every little thing that was going on in the room next to us quite clearly through the vents in both the main room and the bathroom. Not many cable channels on the TV. The heating system made noise at night, but heated up the room well.

| Fine is you're visiting campus, but not great for the business traveler and room service does not start until 7:30. Loud sports bar on the first floor and street noise kept me up. Staff is nice, but it is an 80 year old hotel.
