The hotel amenities were impressive including the views of the ocean and hills. If you are a beach or nature lover this is a good place to stay. They have 8 pools and a private island that is free to use for the people who stay at teh resort. It is a good place to be with family and friends. We liked the resort so much that we are planning to go back next year.

The hotel was beautiful and relaxing. The food is extremely expensive so make plans to eat elsewhere. I had to change our reservation because of a political convention going on the day of our stay, that I didn't know anything about. So I had a hard time changing it because they wanted to charge me the full price of the stay.

We understood that this is the biggest resort in PR, and that it would be expensive, but considering what they charge, a lot could have been better. The front desk staff was very unorganized, taking an unacceptable amount of time to get us checked in and out. $9 for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for a child is outrageous. Catering to the NY crowd with obnoxious NY prices is just obnoxious. Our first room was unacceptable and should not have even been used. Broken fan, busted bathroom faucets, missing drain from the bathroom sink and bathtub, AC not working, and a horrbile chemical smell. Yes, they moved us without any hassle, but we should not have been hassled with a bad room to begin with! If you like Vegas flash, and throwing your money away, you will probably like El Con. Look closely, and you will find it very tired, with cracks in room walls, badly in need of painting. Mildew and scum in the pools. I would not get back in them! Common areas such as walkways desperate for a scrubbing. People who find El Con perfect certainly don't have very high standards.

This was a family vac (2 adults, 2 kids) and we only booked for 2 nights since it was the last leg of our vacation in San Juan. Our main purpose was to go to the Bioluminescent Bay (amazing!) and then decompressed after 5 days of full exploring in old San Juan and Western part of the Island. We were placed on the "Villas" at the Marina and the view was spectacular, the room was huge and with our sit-down terrace, clean and confortable. The service was very nice and the food was good. A little pricey but you also have the option of going to eat outside the hotel to the nearby little restaurants which we didn't have time. Our only complain is we didn't have enough time to explore all the pools and the grounds of the hotel. The beach at Palomino Island was fantastic! Bring your own snorkeling gear since you could be in 3 feet of water and surrounded by fish and coral to keep you and your kids mesmerized for hours on end! We are definetely going back as soon as we can, but this time we'll stay for the whole week there!

The resort is absolutely beautiful carved into the side of a mountain that drops into the beautiful ocean. Most of the staff is very polite especially when you got to one of there 4 star restaurants. However most of your dining time is not spent at these restaurants but rather at the casual restaurants where you eat breakfast and lunch, have drinks in the afternoon and evening, and where you will go for dinner after getting sick of paying $200 for a dinner for 2. These restaurants have the worst service I have ever witnessed. It is disgraceful. And the prices are still ridiculous for food that is at best mediocre. Example : My wife and decide on a light dinner after having a late lunch. We to go one restaurant, and are seated right away. After waiting 20 minutes for a server to take our drink orders (and asking any that walked by our table who just ignored us), we left. We went to the second restaurant and the same exact thing happened, the only difference was we waited 15 minutes.

They only thing that I didn't like was that my husband got sick, on evening in the pool. I ran to get help and no one came until everything was over. I am glad that he recovered quickly. Also, the park lot is far from the hotel and they only have one van to take us from and to the hotel. Somethings, it was late at night and we could fine anyone.

Our recent trip was so much more that we expected! Our room was upgraded to ocean front and the views were stunning! Palimino Island was wonderful. Our only complaint would be that the food was expensive and not very many choices. However as long as you have a car you can be at a Walmart in 20 minutes. Actually the resort offers so much to do that after 1 day you no longer need a rental car. (Extra Expense)The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. They are in the process of updating the hotel and creating a water park. We can not wait to return next year and bring the family with us or maybe not? But we will return!

If you have a chance to book a suite, do it! Our room was absolutely incredible; marble floors, flat screen TV, piano, ocean front views. The grounds & golf course are beautiful, the people were friendly, service was good. There is shopping, a casino, beautiful pools, etc. We did not have a chance to go to the island to see the beach, but heard from others it was great. I would love to go back.

We arrived late and as a result got an upgraded room into Las Casitas Village. It was great. The service was excellent and most of the employees were very friendly. Everything on site is relatively expensive, but the good thing is that you don't have to leave the resort for anything unless you want to go sightseeing. The private island was awesome, although the lines for the Ferry can be a hassle. There were only two drawbacks to our vacation: Driving to the site you think you must be lost due to the appearance of the area you are driving through and the valet parking leaves something to be desired.
